Now, after recovering a bit from the "mashed-brain" disease (Lack of thinking xD) I can only say:
-always, at least on a subcounscious level you do that thing because it benefits you, because you are waiting for something in return: that may be either money, or something else but also just a "thanks", a friend or just to feel good
-people who say they are doing it and not waiting for something in return... sorry sir, but I do not believe you!

Selflessness is an act often taken for granted by most persons, and yet it is the noblest of all Human Kindness in as far as helping others is concerned. Adieuu, you are soo very correct when you hit the phrase, Life is more than all of us. We cannot fully measure the value of life, that is way too beyond human comprehension. We cannot take a look at a person from head to foot and judge his worth after. We cannot just read a life biography and judge from there if he had lived a life worth living. Life, they say, is what you make it... after all.

Going out of your way for others sake is, more often than not, too complicated for others to accept. This act is doubled when you go out of your way for a complete stranger--helping someone you dont personally know to the best of your abilities. This is something worthy of Heroic remembrance. ^^

In Filipino culture, there is a term called "Utang na Loob" (Literally translated to "Internal Debt"). This is a value that if someone did kindness to you, you cannot fully repay it even if you'll do hin the same favor, Utang na Loob is always a Noble Act, and is always worthy remembering.

    I cant say more., ^^

A hero is the one that didnt manage to run away on time... To stay and do something out of the ordinary for strangers you need a reason to do so. But thats another level of help, I though the thread was most in a normal like situation... not in the heroic level.

How often do you encounter heroes? You see them on youtube videos, not on streets.

Considering I see my mom daily , I'm in the lucky position to see a real hero on every single days .

I see, but she did it for her son, not for a stranger. Since we started the "heroic acts" discussion + the original discussion was "helping without a reason" = "heroic acts with no personal benefit and no tied connections".

You can't just walk on the street, look at someone and say: 'oh snap, wait! this stranger is a hero!'

Just because we dun live in the a hollywood movie, you need to get know to the other in order to be able to judge him/ her.

Dun piss me off now >:

I have never seen one with my own eyes... and thats exactly the point.

I am not trying to open a debate or say that something is true or false, is just my opinion... but this person clearly thinks that heroes does exists in real life, not only in youtube.

Good for Zee that have an hero mom... maybe he can learn things that others cannot. But still no post in this whole thread sustain enough validity on its own to make me change my mind (as Daaxie said, we are all sharing opinions).
