Summer Captions!

Hello Daevas!

As summer draws to an end slowly, it's time for us to remember all the good memories we have made so far this season!
Summer Captions is two in one! A writing and a photo contest which is designed to last for a lil longer than 2 weeks.

Grab your camera and go for a vacation to explore the lands of Atreia!
Go solo or invite a maximum of 2 friends to join you with your adventures.

You are tasked to share your own summer story by taking some screenshots in game and create a story out of them!
Let your imagination soar and add small captions below each picture to give us a better description of what exactly you have spent your time with this summer.

Everyone is welcome to join, excluding Staff members.
No plagiarism! Your entry must be your own work, which means both the pictures and your captions must be written and taken by you.
Your entry must consist of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 11 screenshots.
Each picture most contain some kind of description or caption that tells us a story of what and who you spent your time with either this or a previous summer!
You can choose to join on your own or invite 2 of your friends (at most) for your pictures. You are not allowed to create a story with only your alt toons!
You can join both as a participant (in someone else's entry) and as a submitter!
Be creative! Invite your friends and explore the summery lands and beaches of Atreia together to take your pictures!
If an entry makes it to the top 3, only the submitter will give the big prize, however, participants of each valid entry will be given a participant prize!
The use of different costumes, backgrounds, maps, emotes, is what can make your entry unique! Aim for that!
Do not use attachments (uploading pictures from your computer), instead upload all your pictures to Imgur or any image-sharing website before you post them!
You can only join with ONE forum/in-game account!
Black strike system is enforced on anyone who decides to ignore the rules! 3 black strikes can ban you from every future event so keep that in mind.

1. Go to Imgur and upload your screenshots there.
2. Having done that, right click with your mouse on one of the pictures, and select, 'copy image address'.
3. Open the forum thread, and fill out the entry format.
(if you have already posted them once but incorrectly, just go to your post, and click, 'Edit')
4. Click the small yellow image icon (which is right next to the smiley icon).
5. Paste your link there, then click 'OK'.
6. Do the same with the rest of your pictures.

So do we do the caption thingies inside the screenshots like chat bubbles or underneath the screenshots?

 

As the example in the spoiler shows as well, the captions must be more or less on the bottom of screenshots but not necessarily (putting the captions on the top is not a problem to me, you may have your own style). The only thing that matters is that you have to create a summer story by giving short descriptions on all your screenshots.

 

Meaning, any of the creative ideas you want to your caption as long as you can share your story. Right?

Indeed, this event is all about creativity, and luckily Aion provided us with enough options that we can work on.
However, the captions don't necessarily have to be as long as in my example, don't worry (I may have had myself some trouble with keeping it short), it's just to give an idea to everyone about what it can look like.

Summer Captions has come to its end!

Thank you to all participants for joining and sharing your summer stories with the community!
Some of them made us laugh, some others were quite touching.


The decision will definitely not be easy to make because of the different types of stories we have so we will need a few days at least
to decide on our top three winners for this event.

A secret voting will start in a couple hours which means if you don't find your entries in this thread, don't worry, it will mean only one thing:
I will be moving all posts into a safe place where no staff member will be able to view them to make sure we provide a fair voting for everyone
where people vote for the actual entries and not being affected by the names of the submitters in any way.
