Help for a Newb Sorceror T.T

Okay so I'll admit it, I'm a newb and the people on this game kinda suck. Its a smash and grab kinda world where people don't want to sit around and help newbs. Or atleast thats the experience I've gotten, and I've looked at the 2 sorc guides on here and the more experienced mages have shot them down. So I was hoping that perhaps one of the Veterans of aion will show me the ropes? I figured out the basics of the world and the abyss, I just suck at pvp and my equips suck so nobody wants to party me for dp. I realize I'm just rambling and throwing a temper tantrum but I've played for two months fairly regularly now and I still haven't killed a single person. show mercy on this catastrophe? If anyone wants to help I'll give you any details you need. (sorry for being so vague, if I understood what the problem was I could probably fix it myself)

This is a noobie-friendly vid from Menaace, things work out easier in this server so... check the other vids, also, notice every detail, debuffs and timing they uses, you should be a great sorc by then.
Note: sorc is not easy, the fact that you cannot just go zerg in for mass aoe will scare you to actually get in and kill any 1 + blind leap not working sooo, work as a team in pvp and know what you are doing.
Also, at least tell the name of the spells they used in each vid they made and their effect/dmg.

of all classes since its ur first why pick a sorc? it is if not the hardest is one of the hardest toon to use due to its many clicks and timing.

1 of the friendliest toon to choose is glad.

well thank you jazz, that is sort of helpful. and rinaya thanks for the offer, I play half elyos and half asmo. and Uzziel, I prefer magical classes, I don't play fighters like glad. Besides I like a challenge, I'm just tired of being stubborn and trying to figure it out myself. Thank you everyone for your help. any more help I would be equally grateful for

Oh and t2the0x I did glance at your guide but one thing I noticed for guides is that they are more generalized and don't really offer the answers I'm looking for. like a text book, they give answers but teachers are there to clarify these answers.

 

that doesn't make a lot of sense but thank you. I knod of get it, I don't really know what a toon is.... umm a question. My sorc has about 4k hp! WEEE! and I think I heard that I can make that better. How do I help my hps? And can anyone recommend a skill set for pvp? Currently I have 1: aetheric spell 2: aether's hold 3: illusion storm 4:sleeping storm 5:slience 6: curse of roots 7:flame spray 8: flame cage 9:stoneskin 0:boon of ironclad (extra slot) 1:lightburst (extra slot) 2: ancestral magma burst. Is this a fail setup? if so please tell me why and how I can fix it. T.T

well yes the video was rather informational. however a few things didn't make any sense. A gladiator used great cleave on him twice during one of his *flawless* 1v2 scenes and it did a grand total of 0 damage. how is that possible? great cleave twice would have me done for. how can no one do any damage to him?

 

Did u notice the first cleave got dodged?, 2nd was protected with stone skin.

At this point doing 1 on 1 with Sorc against, let's say glad is rather hard cuz of no working blind leap, if they catch u and u can't pull of a last second buff, ur dead.

 

thats what I thought, so really the information in this ideo is only sort of valid, and a little outdated. helpful but even so. it doesn't touch on many of the basics which is what I'm looking for. To help, this video requires an already in depth knowledge on not only the sorceror's skills, but their situational use.

 

Ok, quick tips, this is just how i play tho.

ALWAYS have stone skin up, you never know when u'll be ambushed, especially in core.
Keep distance, use anytin to keep distance, root, curse off roots, sleep, anytin.

When enemy is rooted, always start off with a cast time buff, like Magic boost, then with dmg that delays, like lava eruption and delayed blast, then use sumtin to slow down their movement speed, for example the ice chain.
Then u can toss up the, for asmo, boon off quickness, and use any high dmg spells like flame spray or glacial shard...or both, and as a last resort aether hold if they still aint dead...but really...they should be lol.

That's how i play, i might not be all that good but i manage.

 

thats better than what I have currently which is nothing. they show up, and they're flying to fast so I can't even click on the bastards. damn asmos T.T then I try and sleep them or something but they got me first so thats really the end of that. air battle sucks.

I'll give you some more detailed info later on, maybe tommorow depending on what i end up doing.

All i can say is that - Sorc is a very hard class, but once you know how to play it - God you'll pwn.
ATM the best you can do is learn all your binding's ( Playing on keeboard is a massive +, Don't listen to anybody that say's otherwise) & the spells effect that goes with the binding.
After that only practice will make perfect.
I will try & give you a basic list of combo's for you to learn in ''basic'' duel's - so that you can learn your spells by heart etc... But never rely on those in abyss or in tourney duel's or such.
Reading the comment's in SorzedYou 's guide might help a bit - The other guide is just trash made by a trash sorc.

well thank you, I suppose. I understand what you mean, I was only using one quickbar until I saw that youtube vid ^^' I'm only just now realizing how intricate the workings of the sorc are. its all very situational, and you have to know exactly what button to hit when. knowing your spells by heart is a huge plus. so I'm practicing but still its a work in progress. I mainly float around in the ayss trying to get to the core but I often fail. XD any advice on abyss survival? beside follow the big crowd of people that know what they're doing...

 

Oh sorc is my first char too. However the goal in duels for example is to not let your opponent even hit you. Vs fighters u always use illusion to avoid their attacks. I like to start duel with illusion storm, which has 0 casting speed so basically you will have a pretty good start, ince he is stunned keep him that way, use aethers hold, u can hit him even once with chain skill and before he lands down use another immobilazing skills like sleep for example. Then you use delayed blast, and fallow with thunder bolt wich will stun ur opponent. Use curse roots or another sleep. Then you can just blast him with glacial shard and fallo with summon rock and frost as they have 0 casting time ( but I doubt you will rly need em). Once you re in core just keep looking around, even if u get ambushed by some melle classs, first thing you do is hit with illusion storm, u will buy yousrself some time, u can root after, sleep etc... if rangers attack you, illusion is first thing you use, also remember boon of iron.. jsut know ur skills and you should be fine. About Hp thingie.. try to get ur anuhart set and enchant it, it will add some HP, and manastones are fine too.
