Might sound like a silly question, but did you email him?
Or did you PM his forum account? I'm sure he never checks his forum notifications.

 

Several times, both pm and email. I've been kind and nice about the whole thing.

But it just makes me wonder why he's updating the server due to bugs and can't atleast respond to a message about a situation he created.

 

Thats where you messed up.. You took it into your own hands to do something that you weren't supposed to. You are not on staff. So i understand carls decision in doing what he did.

It is called common sense.. He shouldn't have to lay out rules especially such rules that involve restarting the server.

In Carl's eyes its a test server, and doesn't want nothing to go wrong with it.. if a player restarts the server, he considers that disrespectful.. Think about it, this is his baby, his pride and soul, he doesn't need some player he doesnt know restarting his server...

 

alight, as i thought too bad for you, you should think that is ONLY admin, real admin, job

its HIS forum, why should not check his notifications, belive me he check those evrywhen

Its a test server, Carl didn't expect a player would ACTUALLY restart the server. Prolly why he didnt block the command.. regardless...

 

I've PM'd him serval times with different issues before, I have never gotten a reply. Only place I did was at the email.
So my impression is that he never checks the notifications, just logs on, put update logs and logs off.
I was asking him because if he sent a forum PM, he will probably never reply to it.

Agreed. Carl created this situation.

 

For someone who knows nothing about programming, test servers, etc, yes you do have to lay out what commands to use and what not to use. You want me to test things out, show me what to test and provide me with regulations, I'm not on staff and I don't know development, is it really hard to state what commands not to use?

If you don't want someone restarting the server, tell them don't do it! It's really easy! You don't want me back on the test server, that's fine, I won't go back. But don't ban my private account, that's just ill-tempered and spiteful. He needs to take responsibility for unfairly banning people who didn't know what they were doing was wrong. You don't want people you don't know on the test server, don't allow us access then. But also don't ban separate accounts that people have been donating and using to your paycheck and advantage.

It's really easy to tell someone don't do this, do go here. Really, it is. I was made the highest level admin on the test server which made all commands available to me. You don't want something done, say so. Go that extra step and talk.

And no, he doesn't check his messages all the time, I have several confirmations on that.

 

Again, I will say this again.. YOU ARE NOT ON STAFF... Doesn't give you the right to restart the server. You can test things without restarting the server..

 

And again I will say this again, if there are certain commands you don't want me to use, say so. If restarting the server is a command only available to the highest admin, make me a level or several below that. Your constant point that I'm not on staff makes no difference about the situation. I was put in a position with access to all commands and now I'm being punished for using one that was never stated not to use.

No matter how you put it, the situation is wrong. Ban me from the test server, that's fine, I actually support that decision.

Don't ban me from the private server. That's where there's a problem.

 

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize for himself that restarting the server was not the brightest idea to do..
