is it possible to control a dream?

In my dreams I am killing elyos.

 

This is an interesting question I don't know...

Although I could lecture for days on things like sleep apnea, night-terrors, african sleeping sickness, multiple sleep-prion-disorders, etc.

=/

I've heard it is possible. But, like anyone in this field, I am cynical as hell...

I really don't remember a very particular dream where I was able to control and make it the way I want it to happen. I guess it happened once or twice, when I was in the middle of my subconsciousness. But what I am sure of is there were times when I dreamed of something really nice and I woke up a bit and I want to go back to that dream, I mostly end up with the continuation of that dream and sleep again, just like I wanted it.

 

Well in my situation I can't do that, If I wake up in the middle of a Dream and go back to sleep, I Respawn in a new kisk in a different dimension more like dragon ball Z shit most of the time. I think I have personal issues U.U

 

I've had multiple dreams that i was able to control. Like i was missing someone very dear to me before i fell asleep and in my dream i was missing that person as well. I've had some crazy dreams to like killing demons and stuff and i would feel the pain within the dream and still feel it when i woke up. It's interesting and scary..i've died in my dreams a few times and i woke up gasping for air.

Thats my natural state of mind and yeah exactly lile that, pause and play...lol

 

Hmm.. I don't think it's literally that you are controlling the dream but rather you have taken control of observing the dream. I guess I say this is because I see dreams as a story-teller designed by your sub-conscious. You may think you're in control but your actions are simply meant to occur the way it did, it's part of the story.

on topic:
i'm thinking it is possible, dreams reside in the subconscious mind. although its a fringe science, meaning its a hard to explain or prove. but it is part of the long term memory, most likely a dream is part of your memory which you had. the subconscious mind might be responsible for piecing up the parts of your long term memory thus giving you a story like figure, so on the topics question if you can control your dream then most likely possible.

i once drove my car about 15 miles asleep. with out an accident. this is not a lie, the subconscious part of your mind is powerful part of your brain that can control your body with out you knowing.

lol not really.. i had a research on the subconscious when i had a near death experience in an accident. lol. i was driving my car asleep again, still it wasn't my fault. another car hit me from the side and totally wrecked it. thus i believed that i could have still gotten home unhurt if that car didn't hit me at all cause i was on the right lane.

 

its impossible to control your dream. you just feel you can control it but you cant.

 

I'd say no because it's a sub conscious state.

 

well if you notice it in a dream while your on it and say to your self hmm this is a dream then have fun with it, it means your controlling it in some ways. it just don't happen most of the time.
