    Bug Name
    Block rate error
    Bug Description
When I have stacked a large amount of block, I am noticing two trends in the pattern.

    1. When the target obtains a critical strike it hits through my block. This is an error, since blocking, parrying or dodging eliminates the crit.

Essentially in other words critical strike chance comes AFTER the chance of blocking. Unlike now where it is BEFORE.

    2. My block is currently at 2,715 on my cleric and I lack the capability to even block 2/10 of a ranger's arrow attacks when they have 2,100 accuracy. This is invalid since 2,715- 2,1000 = 615 which should easily hit the 50% cap. I'd have expected to block 5/10 of their attacks.

My thoughts is that the second point may be simply due to the first one, leading to shockingly reduced block rate due to other players high critical hit rate.

    How to reproduce
To reproduce I'd say try obtaining 500 block on a testing character above another testing character with 500 less accuracy than the other players block. This should hit the 50% blocking rate. Meaning 1/2 attacks should be blocked without fail. This is most certainly not the case in game.

    And I thought accuracy was bugged. xD I have 2,940 block on my temp, so I know how you feel with it being important. x: Only people I can block, oddly enough atm are rangers and other templars. <.<;

Only reason they socket accuracy is because of the knockdown rate. =P Why would you want to miss your target when you can put them on the ground for 100% of the fight? =P

    probability and statistics.

supposed we are to attack 10 times, each attacks can either be block or not (50% chance to block).

    Question
    How many possible outcomes?
How many possible ways you could get 5 blocks out of 10 attacks?

out of 10 attacks, there are 100 possible outcome.
50 possible ways you could get 5 blocks out of 10 attacks.

but still does not guarantee you get 50% blocks out of 10 attacks.

Just use a templar full block vs a glad. The templar wont even block 1 attack.

    Glad without acuracy stones ^^

    It's retarded.

It may be because currently theformula PRIORITIZES critical strike before dodge, parry, and block.....

    But that is invalid.

I mean even think about it.

Would a dodged attack crit? No...

and on retail it is like this.

    Block CANCELS critical strike probabibility.

+100% pro right there. ( Love spell ish a spell though, so it in theory should be resisted, not blocked. :3)

But regardless, Block shouldn't be as low as it is. I tend to have to use my 2k dp skill (Divine chatisement) in order to block off glads, and half the time I resist my own buff. Srsly? D:

Strike resist has nothing to do with blocking attacks, all strike resist does is lower the chance of a critical hit being landed on you.

Kinda like how strike fortitude is meant to lower the damage you take from a critical hit. =P
