[Forum Guide] How to use the forums

The GamezNetwork Community Forum is the main source of information were players receive important news and chat to others. This guide will not only show you are the forums, but will also show you how to use it.

First off I will split each part of the forum into sections and tell you the different features it has to offer.

Forum Main Page

GamezNetwork Community Forums are split up in 6 sections.

1. User bar​

This User Bar is available so it is easier to navigate to your Notifications, Your profile, Settings and to Log Off/On

Notifications: This button allows you to navigate to your notifications quickly and easily such as Private Messages, Visitor Messages and Friend Requests

My Profile: To access your user profile that displays your friends, visitor messages, groups, albums.

Settings: Quick and Easy button to redirect you to the general settings page in which you can change your forum settings to suit you.

Log Off/On: This is pretty straight forward. This helps you log off and on your GamezNetwork Forum accounts.

2. Navigation Bar​

The navigation bar is also another feature that makes it easier for you to navigate around the forum.

Clicking the GamezNetwork & Forum button will redirect or refresh you back to the main page.

What's New?/New Posts: A simple button that will take you to a page that displays all the New Posts

FAQ: This will take you to a page that will help you further in answering your questions that a frequently asked about.

Calendar: Takes you to a calendar that displays all birthdays and events coming up.

Community: Helps you go to groups page, your albums, friends and contacts, the members list and the chat in which you can chat to other forum users.

Forum Actions: Drop down menu that helps your more forum related. You can mark all forums read (Makes all un-read threads and post as read), General settings (Takes you to your settings page) and Edit Profile where you can edit for profile details etc etc.

Quick Links: This is also a drop dwon box which lets you take you to your subscribed threads, opens your contact popup (Shows which users on your friends list are online or offline and can send PM's to them), View forums leader (Shows a list of GamezNetwork Staff) and last, takes you to a page that shows all online users.

SEARCH BOX: The search button is the best tool to use on this forum. If you have a problem/question or idea, search first as someone may have had the same issues/question or idea as you and may have started a thread already. If the search shows up with a thread with the same issues/question or idea you can navigate to that post and find the after result. If not, feel free to make a post about your issue and monitor it until you can get some help or feedback.

The advance search also helps as you can limit to what forum categories you search.

3. Top 10 Stats​

This section is really handy, it shows a variety of options in which you can look up such as latest posts, newest members, top posters, top referrers, top reputations etc.

To view more then 10 stats Click "Top 10 Stats" on the top left and then click View More. This will take you to a page in which you can then chose how many stats you want to display.

To change what stats you want to see either click on "Newest Members" or "Top posters" and chose what you want to see from the drop down menu.

4. Forum​

Now onto the forums, this is were most of the discussions take place. You will be able to find all information that you need to know.

The forums are regularly updated with server updates, news & bugs also multiply discussion areas. You can also report hackers and bug abusers in the forums under the Reports section.

To start looking in the forums, you need to figure out what catergory you want to go into. After that, you then should see posts where you can start posting and talking to players.

5. Whats going on​

The What's Going on section is the "Stats" section as some many call it. This section displays all the users online and also users that were on in the past 24 hours (exuding the invisible and guest users).

It also displays users birthdays of that current day aswell as the forum statistics.

6. Bottom Navigation Bar​

Contact Us: Where you can contact GamezNetwork Admin.

GamezNetwork Community Forums: Redirects you to the main page

Archive: Takes you to a less user friendly forum without any images.

Top/Back to Top: Takes you to the top of the page.

Posts

Posts are were information and discussions are made from. Most your time here on the forums will be looking at posts either creating or responding to them.

There are some features on posts that you must know about and how you use them properly.



A: Post Header: Displays Thread Tools, Search, Rate and Display button. Also displays Date, Time and Post Number of that thread.

B: User Infomation: Displays Name, Title, Avatar, Join Date, Location, Number of Posts, Reputation and Thanks information.

C: Text: This section is where the post text will be displayed.

D: Signature: User's Signature is placed underneath the post

E: Interactive Bar: This Bar is an important piece of the forums. I will explain each button and how to use them.

This button is a nice way to show people you are thankful for there post.

Reputation: This button allows you to give a user reputation based on there post. You can award with positive or negative reputation.

Report Button: The report button is were you REPORT someones post which breaks the forum rules. DO NOT use this button to ask the user questions as they will not see it, only forum admins, moderators and GM's see the comments left in the report. Abuse of this system could lead to an infraction.

These buttons allow you to reply to certain posts. The reply button will reply to the post without quotes. The reply with quote button allows you to reply with a quote in the thread. and the last button (aka. F: Thanks Box: This box displays the users who thanked your post using the Thanks button.

That is all for this guide. Yes it was long, but now you have a medium understanding on how to use the forums and what certain features do.
