About ABG

So.. I heard you could get ABG via AP here but it seems the shop or the feature to get it was disabled; leading us to get ABG only by voting.

So, if this was true.. According to an old post where it was said that Crystal is supposed to be as most retail-like as possible.. Is it retail-like not being able to get ABG by normal means?

Nope, you can't get it in game on this server.

I wish they'd add ABG in game on Crystal as incentive to get people to come to this server. I don't think Carl understands that it still would take months to farm the AP and required medals (the #1 Elyos atm has 900k AP), and would have to get 15+ accounts to 55 for the required platinum medals.

Although *some* would opt to grind it out, IMO the majority that join this server would choose to donate - as evidenced by the percentage of Crystal's population which donates atm.

It'd also result in more geared people which would result in better PvP.

If everything is in the cash shop, sure people will donate - but due to a smaller population on the server, the amount of revenue would still be insignificant compared to the alternative I just suggested.

Edit: Please don't spout that "donations keep this server alive nonsense". This server passed the point in which it was struggling financially a long time ago. Look up hosting costs. Right now it's about maximizing donations - certain features have been removed from the game in order to ensure that people will donate.

IMO it's a flawed way of thinking - more people would donate with all features available in game (see other notable private servers).

 

Still, it would cost you around 80$ to get the full ABG set.
If one part is 1.5k credits, and 100 credits are like 1$..

I believe that the fact that in some way, PvP having to do with donations (As stated above, better gear makes good PvP; and therefore ABG would make good year) doesn't sound to me like an incentive to play at Crystal; I'm still staying anyway.

Or at least (I'm going off topic) they could fix the other ways to get different gear, such as Tac, for example.

I'm afraid ABG isn't 100% necessary at donations.
More stuff could be offered rather than it.

The fact of the matter is that as long as decent armor in unobtainable on Crystal, the server population is going to remain small.

Keeping ABG in game will give people something to work towards (I have full ABG accessories/weapon/10% GS/half ABG armor - rest GPP; so I'm not talking from the perspective of someone who has nothing). People in ABG *steamroll* everyone else. It's not even a competition. This discourages new players.

Many people decide to donate only after they've experienced what this server has to offer. Having a low population, bugged instances, bugged forts, and incorrect ranks is discouraging people from coming to this server and donating en masse.

The reason Gamez has such a high population is because of the rates. Crystal needs *something* to attract people. Making ABG obtainable in game IMO will result in a much higher population.

Your argument is that implementing ABG will *lower* donations, that's blatantly false. Decreasing donation *per capita* doesn't mean *less revenue generated* if *more people* are playing on this server. There's a *huge* population on Gamez already, so this isn't an issue there - in a smaller server like Crystal it's a huge issue.

To put it in simpler terms, if you have 60 people donating $100 each, the amount of revenue generated would be less than 200 people donating $40 each. It's simple economics. A high demand for donation items in a small population will result in less revenue than an intermediate demand in a large population.

Carl needs to focus on increasing the population here if he wants more donations. The easiest way to do that is to give people incentive to come here. Make ABG obtainable, fix SW drops, fix the forts, and fix the ranks.

Carl, if you somehow read this, you've got nothing to lose. Chances are that implementing it will actually raise donations. Perhaps it will probably become a Second GamezAion with lower rates but nevertheless, it'll have a greater population which will lead to more donations.

Like Sileria said currently the armor obtainable in-game are a joke compared to abg with the best thing i can think of is the udas set (maybe some besh pieces but not all drop atm) and weapons? A joke of epic proportions even with +15 udas (maybe yammenes if u got a ViP friend to do that) the dmg is laughable. (sin with +15 yammenes dagger/sword with full crit/atk stone socketed on armor as well only does 300-500 dmg with skills on my full abg gladiator with no buffs) there really is no chance for new players.

Yes, you can eventually vote for a full abg set but that would take months and what do they do during that time? New players cant do instances because half of them are bugged and the other half does drop most of the items. They can't pvp cause abg chars just roflstomp them by mashing 12345 no skill required (i'm guilty of this as well too lazy to even kite since they do ~300 dmg vs my 13k hp)

So...please fix instances, please fix drops, please fix ranks and let people work for abg in game.

ABG is indeed the most superior pvp gear in game, but that doesn't actually mean GPP/APP/EGT/EAT sets are worthless. i played APP set with my sin till now and is doing fine... remember Gamez has a lot of ABG geared players which most of the time you can encounter easily.

as an incentive, keeping ABG in shop is fine with me, but as a mid rate server at least make all the instances/quest working 100%. even Mastarius/Vielles quest.
