Lag spikes, restarts

I've played NA Retail myself. I know how bad it sucks. I only suggested it because I feel people here whine just as much as those who still play retail.

I've ran my own MMO server before. It is is a free service. You aren't required to pay to play at any given moment. Donations are just a simple way to share the server bill among the community. Most administrations start a server from their own pocket and choose to introduce a donation system later on. But atleast you're getting an extended service for your donations. Anyone administration that says their service will close because the community hasn't donated x amount of dollars shouldn't be running a server to begin with.

 

so you're saying that this server doesnt need donations to run? if this is true, it would suggest that the money people are donating is largely just being pocketed. thats even more wrong tbh...

 

Well yes, people play in it for free. But without the donates, in which you use to pay the hosters, you can't play it for free. Because there won't be any server. No person would act like a saint and let his own money be funded for the server that the whole world has access to. Lol.

 

You would be quite surprised at how many actually do fund their server themselves throughout all the private servers for various MMOs. I funded my own for a whole year. I guess it depends on your degree of passion.

 

...or how much cash you have to spare.
you can't just assume that EVERYBODY is willing to continue funding their server themselves. it is a likely possibility that the server will shut down without donations

 

Can we get a little transparency of why this server crashes same time everyday so that we players dont have to speculate. Just a little heads up of the problem I think would calm people down at least they know what the problems this server is experiencing atm.

We don't know why the crashes happen. We see the pattern, we don't need you guys to tell us that. Give it time. It should be fixed eventually.

I never said it wasn't a possibility. Other situations can cause a server to shut down too.

This is a moot point anyways. I brought it up to get a reaction about things of this nature. It doesn't reflect any on how this server is funded, where the funds actually go, or even whether it is fair. Just a discussion about why donations aren't the only source for a server to stay alive.

 

Dev's needed for sure. Stability is needed and it comes with time and with the willing of providing a good service.

If there are few ppl the problems will be fixed with time, bear with it! It also pisses me off but well...

 

pffff i can't to connect to the server. i wait 15 min and nothing happens. shit infiniteaion same. lagg it may be but their servers do not crash

 

this forum is full of flames/spam about the server

 

it wouldnt happen if they didnt have crashes and lags in the first place

We are aware of the lag issues and the matter is being investigated, you can expect some fairly significant changes over the next 1-2 days.

Also to dispel this silly rumor Gamez and Crystal are not hosted on the same server machine.

While we're on the matter GMs do not ignore these threads, we simply lack the access necessary to directly address these issues. We're doing what we can guys, believe me we share your frustrations fully.
