    Example:
Quality isn't the best but its readable.

This basically when Guy #1 is selling something that's normally expensive (here, ABG Mace) for something that's surprisingly less expensive (here, Masta Bow) if you don't have it which is what they hope, they'll try to sell you it at an above average price (they were expecting my ABG sword for a sure trade, out of my expected 'desperation') with Guy #2.

Though they can be less direct, Guy #1 might just be shouting to buy and Guy #2 shouting selling it.

If you so happen to have what Guy #1 "wants" (masta bow in this case) they'll just ignore you.
Can be in other items, like loads of uncommon (BUT not expensive) mats etc.

Common sense will help you avoid this but:

Just wondering if this is legal?

Only today I've already seen this twice (they PMd me trying the scam on me) and its becoming more frequent Q.Q

So what you're saying is that there's an ABG Mace for ABG Sword. That's fair enough?

Why ever not? It's worth the same.

Masta is also worth 2k, but we all know that the market doesn't accept that fact.
ABG to ABG has its shaky moments, but its more or less the same.

You do have a point, but that is for scamming, and I see no scam here, just marketing strategy.

Perhaps, but I find ingame and real life comparisons aren't always that relevant.

This is just a game after all, but still it can be moderated to suit the population. IRL, even scams aren't legal, that's what this is more than a scam than a strategy. Say working with "others" in a casino to win is just a "strategy" to the police =/

By any token let this thread serve as some sort of warning, no matter how trivial :)

This is borderline scamming, don't even know how you see it as a marketing strategy

Most of the marketing strategies are clean... they seems otherwise because they attack the subjective aspect of the consumer...

Anyway, it seems the scumbags are trying new ways to scam.

I got scammed out of an ABG sword a while back. Before I was GM though. :/
Stuff like this happens. And even know I dont know if we can do anything about it.
Duel client is allowed but people are starting to use strategies like this is just wrong.
