Cleric Or Chanter?

Log in the test server, I was doing decent damage. And Glads don't tank as much, and parry/block isn't bugged... You'll hit pretty low with the normal chains, but our other skills seem to hit decently now.

Dps cleric is fun too! if u already have full healing friends , so u dont have to be another full healer aka slave.

Both classes are good.
Only Sorcerers/Assassins can kill a good chanter or cleric i believe.

Sorcerers because of the m.acc and nukes , Assassins because of the Godstone Procs and their nice damage.

Spiritmasters die from M.Res chanters/clerics usually.

Assassins have to use two sword pairs , one pair with 10% Silence on both and one with Blind. Blind on chanter , Silence on cleric.

Sorcerers have to use m.acc and use all their spells on a cleric , because if they use a combo with good skills , the cleric won't die with the rest of the skills and the sorc will run out of mp and die. The sorc will have to run and pot until his cds are ready and mp full
For a chanter , they have to sleeplock him until his cool buffs are gone , otherwise Skills like Glacial Shard will be hitting for around 1k and he will never die. Sleep lock and nuke.

With Fine Recovery Serums/Potions and the Major Divine Life/Mana Serums , you can survive from both by rooting them and running etc , or by hiding with sin. (Just in case they don't die with ur combo)

Chanters perhaps use critical or attack manastones , i don't know. My friend uses parry against melee and m.res against spellcasters , then after they waste their spells he switches to atk and kills them.
Clerics need to use Block vs Melee classes and M.Res against spellcasters i guess , and once the mp is gone , switch to mboost.

Now if you put a chanter and a cleric to fight... i don't know. They need many sets.
Cleric would use block until the chanter's buffs are down then magic boost to damage him after rooting. If the chanter has many sets too , he would switch to m.res until the cleric is done attacking him and then back to attack to damage him.

If both are good , none of them dies lol. The most important is the items. If they don't have 2-3 sets and 2-3 weapons/shields , they are just screwed unfortunately. That's how the pro players beat everyone , the set switching is the most important.


That's just my opinion of course!!! don't flame me , i might be wrong.


ps: Why did i even write all this... nowadays pvp is just zerg , and only cleric is useful in that case. Chanter gets roflstomped , his heals are bad.

Go for cleric trust me.

To be honest , if you are a newcomer you just don't stand a chance
Voting will take forever to get 3 abg sets and 3 pairs of weapons.
It's more like , Donate or Die , Unfortunately.
Old players who have been voting for a long time only got what they need and they kill everyone.

BTW , chanters have the following advantage:

If they get silenced and can't heal , they can stun with physical skills and run.
If they get blinded , they just heal and run.
Clerics are easier to kill , but they kill faster than chanters.
Chanters are a pain in the a$$ to kill , but they can't kill u either if u know what to do lol.
For PvE , Cleric!

 

Ok,so first of all im a cleric,and i have been a cleric since i first started aion long long ago..

If you put it this way,chanter vs cleric in a duel,the chanter is gonna lose in the end (if both players are skilled and have the required equipment).

Now if you ask me which class is better in terms of group pvp i would say cleric again because the buffs of the chanter are not as useful as the extremely strong heals of a good cleric.

In solo PVP things are different,it really depends on against what class you are fighting,if your opponent is a sorcerer then u have an advantage being a chanter,if your opponent is a templar then you have an advantage being a cleric.

Both classes are very good,but i wouldnt switch to a chanter,i think cleric is over all better in some points.


A small addition: The main weapon of a chanter is the staff while the main weapon of the cleric are the shield and mace,its one more advantage for clerics,more defense.

 

How do you beat a buffed chanter who's stunning you and healing , using a m.res set and potting/running?
He will not die lol , it's gonna take ages , he'll die when he runs out of potions.

 

Depends on server, if you play on siel and have all stigma's i'd say cleric for sure.
On lumiel with the stigma system i'd say chanter because a full support cleric can't solo and a full dps cleric isn't as good as support in group pvp.

 

It's on siel , that's why i voted for cleric. On Lumiel i'd definitely pick chanter. Cleric is supposed to have a dps tree or a healing tree , since they got both they're op in siel.
I know it's on siel cause jesseneth is in deja vu as u can see in his signature , that's an asmodian legion in siel.

 

Fastering wound+ servants+ magic accuracy weapons. Not so hard.

 

The servants can die with 1-2 hits , and they are useful if he stands on one spot , also he can use his healing potions (the debuff ones , not the HP Potions). And as i said , when u use m.acc items he's gonna stun u and run.
Of course that's on ground only , what about air pvp? You would stand no chance

Anyways , i voted for cleric , i know chanter can't beat cleric in 1v1. Cleric is better in siel of course.
Even Sorcs die by Clerics , a chanter's damage is not even compared to a sorc's , so yeah.. Cleric.

 

No offense but you dont know what you are talking about,in flight pvp ranged classes have the advantage not the melee ones. Chanters stand no chance against clerics.

 

I'd say cleric if Siel,chanter on Lumiel

But if you havent tried templar yet,do so

Wreck faces with the correct stigma build and skills,wreck even more with full stigma

one of my main reason is the Dispel and curemind >.>

But sooner i might work on chanter items as well :3

 

Not to mention the dispel that chanter lacks,definitely cleric wins.
