    Well it has come to my attention that there seems to be a wee bit of zerg PvP going on in Aion (Oh who are we kidding there always has been and you'd be blind not to see it)

    Anywho! Since the community appears to be so outraged at this we have decided to have a bit of a go at addressing it from a developer and administrative perspective. I do have some doubts about how much we'll be able to achieve in this respect as faction/RvR games are, by original design, inherently zergy. Mob mentality does little to help this.

    Still since people like to nag lets see if there's any substance behind these complaints! What I want to see in this thread is pretty simple - your realistic idea(s) of how to deal with the amount of zerging going on in Aion. Please note that we're not about to start banning people for being in groups larger than six or anything silly like that =p Nor are we going to recode the game from the ground up and make it a FFA (Despite my wishes haha)

    Idea: If more than 6 players attack 1 person, the person (the 'victim') doesn't lose ap and the attackers dont get ap/get less ap (like 10% from the normal rate).
    How this would reduce zerging: There wouldn't a reason why you should run with more than 6 people because you dont get anything.
    Why your idea wont break the game: Because you can still make groups of 6 people and go raiding with them.

    Idea: Making more than 4 players "B" attacking one player "A" get no AP
    How this would reduce zerging: I dont think people would bother zergin if they would have almost no AP, I mean, lets say, there is group of "B" players attacking "A" player, so the "A" player will die, but the group will get nothing, I mean, why would they zerg if they wouldnt get AP. Altho its bit risky, but I think it would turn out good.
    Why your idea wont break the game: It might be hard to make, but I think it would make people think before they zerg, it would help up the pvp, actually since gamez have many players, there could be some pvp on all over the maps, would be awesome seeing 1vs1 everywhere, dont you think?


    Idea: Custom Instance
    How this would reduce zerging: Another idea of mine could be some new instance, where player could choose if he wants 1vs1, or group vs group, or 2vs2 and stuff.
    Why your idea wont break the game: I am not sure, if it would affect zergin tho, since someone can go instance and then back to zerg, but I felt like saying that. There would be no reward for win/loss, just the AP you get by killing

    Idea: Jail the idiots that call for backup when they die in fair pvp AKA HILANDER *coughcoughcough*
    How this would reduce zerging: every time i go out with a group we end up killing sex or die or some other mass inviting asmo legion, after a bit of time i see about 20 members of such said legions coming to the rescue of their worthless comrads

    I think that would require a hell of a lot of coding, because how do you factor in legit group PvP or even Dredgion once it's finally implemented?




    Anyway, I'll give this a shot.



    My idea is to turn off Mob aggro completely in Gelk/Ing, remove all guards except at fortresses, remove the gates and give some incentive to players to utilise the entire map. Also, you could have a forum thread where screenshots of zergers are posted and they recieve a small sanction, like a loss of AP for repeat offenses.


    I guess maybe in game announcements, telling people not to zerg would help too.


    Similar to the vote reward announcements, except telling the playerbase that if they zerg then they'll not be in the GM's good graces.



    I really love you guys for trying this and hope it will work.

    How this would reduce zerging:Open silent canyon to pvp / reduce hp on deities in abyss forts so gold medal farming is revived and abyss becomes crowded again. and last take off fort ownerships in inngi/gelk so zergs can't gather as fast because the more distance a zerg has to travel the more scattered it gets.
    Why your idea wont break the game: Forts ownership is only convienent for teleportations make the diety balaur and npcs belong to the race that runs that land gelk(asmo)/inngi (elyos) so plat medal farming isn't lost. Abyss being revived won't break the game because it was like that before :p.

    Idea: Create new instances for Solo PvP or small groups pvp ( Max 4-6 ppl )
    How this would reduce zerging: The players would be more divided over the maps and instances.

    Idea:we should add some battlegrounds,battleground to be 11vs 11 or 20vs20(etc),players will join, and when the both race's are haveing all players for a battleground...the players of the races to will get a invite, and they will need to accept, and they will be teleported to a place where they can battle
    How this would reduce zerging:its will be very useful

    I really like this idea. They could remove all mobs and have some rule where if you are found to be zerging or in a large group in Silentera then you get V&.

    We (LC) were talking about this in TS this evening .
    and we came up with the following idea:

    deactivate LFG-chat and Tradechannel. Only activate regionchannel, so all this shouting of numerous opponents will not reach as many ppl as it does now.

    I myself been whispering ppl lately why they shout like 30++,40++.50++ Asmos if there are only group with 6 ore maybe at the most 12 ppl .

    I got same answer everytime: This way more Elyos are comingL!

    and surprise, surprise .. 5 min later Zergtrain arrives.

    I think if ppl (on both factions) quitt shouting such wrong numbers of opponents and start fighting instead of crying on forums then we could all minimize the Zergs.

    That would take recoding some maps were not meant to handle pvp like how would you get around in theobomos with all the mountains and guard points, etc.

    I'll just sum it all up.
    Not sure how to, but somehow encourage Solo PvP. ( Kill amount rewards or something like that? )
    Also encourage West\East Shards, Teminon\Primum Raids.
    having Beluslan & Heiron free flight while Balaurea stay ground should bring some old school ( btw awesome ) Heiron and Beluslan PvP, and make Balaurea's ground PvP exclusive.
    Don't think it'll break, having 2 major zones ( Abyss, Heiron&Beluslan ) used for flight PvP and raids while only Balaurea is regarding ground PvP may cause a better well organized both Ground and Flight PvP.
    It worked in 1.9, which was pretty damn good if you ask me, except there wasn't any Balaurea.
    You can't really foresee stuff, but experimenting with long-term major changes could bring some conclusions & help narrow the options.

    I like this idea quite a bit. Rather than deactivating the faction global channels, we could always go back to charging a fee for the use of these channels, ie use of /asmo or /ely accrued a cost of 10mil per message in 2.1(silver-lining here would be that it would also reduce trade spam)

    alente turns into a deity then kills all the elyos, then all the asmos in inggision/ gelk.

    How will this fix zerging ? well being owned by SUPAH DIETY alente over and over gonna suck and peepz gonna be flipping tables saying **** this and quit pvping there D:

    n i dont think this will break the game o.o
