Dot should not break root if the dot is applied before root is applied. But since the update, root is broken by dots regardless. Please fix this.

    Thanks

I'm not sure about how things work on retail , DoTs used to work like that before the update:
You put a DoT then you put a Sleep and the DoT Damages him without waking him up.
Well i think that's a bug.. DoTs should break roots and stuff imo... anyways , if you believe that it is a bug , please report it by filling out this form.

If you are not sure if it is a bug or not , post here.

they actually made it to be like that, any kind of damage, even DoTs applied before the root, break the root. it was actually specified in one of the update notes, so this was meant to be like that.

Check out this sorc pvp video on retail.

At 2:05, the sorc used frost and flame cage on the sin, and then root. The tic damage from flame cage did not break the root until the sorc casted direct damage spell on the sin. Same thing at 2:55, the temp have flame cage dot on him before root is applied and root did not break until sorc casted inferno on him. Its pretty clear from the video that dots tics applied before roots does not break root.

I think you are getting confused with casting dots after roots is applied, then the root will break from dots.

gamez update notes, to be more specific, the ones made for the update when the drop rates got "fixed to be more retail-like"

Well I've always known for it to be broken only after you apply a new DoT during root and not break while a dot is already on.

yeah, but its "broken on purpose" since the devs meant it to be that way so unless they players make a strong suggestion i doubt they would change it.

On retail if you put a dot on a target then root him, the damage does NOT break the root. Only thing that would break a root is if you get damaged AFTER the root has been applied to a target. Yes indeed this is bugged.

would be a bug if it wasnt intentional, but it was intentional so its not bugged bro, ofc we could all tell the devs we dont agree with it and hope that they change it.
