uh i got confused

can anyone explain please what does this quote mean?
' he, who can't see well, will see worse by time, but he who can't hear well, hears more then has been said'

 

He who can't see well, will see worse by time. Being ignorant of your surrounding and not caring will make you suffer. And because deaf people use their other senses more/people who care about what should be taken care of are those who have wisdom.

 

Because our eyes are so easily used by us, we take its importance for granted. When your eyes can't see well, you're basically hopeless, gradually they will turn bad and you won't be able to use them at all. You're oblivious to your surroundings.

But if you can't hear, you start to pay attention to other details around you. You may find that a person is lying/worried/honest through observing them, even though he/she is practically saying the opposite to you. You're now able to "hear" past words, you're able to "hear" into their minds.




I'd say it's somewhere along the lines of "looks can be deceiving".
