Aion is an underrated game.

I don't know, maybe it's just me.
A lot of my RL friends don't even know what Aion is.
I try to show them and they say it looks anime and weird.

I know it's huge overseas (I'm in the US), I just wish it was more popular here.

I'm in the US and no its not underrated almost all my cousins play it, even the females @_@.

 

But overall, Aion is somewhat regarded as a failure in the Western MMO industry.
Sure it's big overseas, but NA and EU players don't seem to like grindy games a lot.

 

meh, i don't care what's cool and what's not, i just play whatever i think is cool for me...

WOW is just too retarded for me. i'd rather play DOTA than spend too much time with it.

well it's probably the same with AION fanboys bashing WOW vids, but anyway, its a question of what is cool for you, rather being a conformist of what cool dudes say is cool for them... lol.

 

It disgusts me sometimes how philippine players still go for old MMOs that I didnt even liked, or those ugleh trying hard MMOs and moderated by a filipino firm. And afaik most of the filipinos here are from visayas region not Luzon where I am.

 

aion isnt very known where i live, in fact no one knows it here though i have seen a few players from my country, but no one close to me except for my gf

tbh, i see more luzon players than visayan.
i even saw alot of the ppl in filcosplay and do anime and MMORPG costumes being from luzon and doing it in either Glorieta or MoA or w/e mall that is

none of the visayan does that

 

Well, i guess this game is underrated in our place too, but my friends (jayri and naian) and I, are trying to spread the aion fevah here in Tagum (Mindanao)

You can't really stereotype people that bash Aion videos as WoW fanboys, or WoW fanboys as people that bash videos from any other game for that matter. It happens to pretty much every game from players of any game, the thing is, WoW is the most mainstream MMO atm and because of that, obviously you'll notice more people from WoW posting on videos.

Personally I'm a fan of both, and imo - WoW is way too overrated currently, but it does have a lot of appeal to several types of people, so it has in a way earned that - Aion is underrated, but it appeals to a specific type of player. Most western players prefer something that doesn't have NCSoft's famous grind.

Though personally, while I think Aion is underrated to the vast MMO majority, I think its very overrated by its players. My opinion is only my opinion, so people can have theirs and thats fine, but personally I think NCSoft should've just built upon the Lineage series and made Lineage 3 with an improved graphics engine and lots of new features and coding and such. A lot of the ideas in Aion didn't really turn out well and I honestly don't like how the game is made that much, but thats just me.

 

The history of Gamez has shown pinoys to frequently dupe, hack, etc.

Obviously thats a major stereotype, but I don't think it'd be a longshot to say that a few people in a few internet cafe's started duping and hacking and other players caught on and also picked up duping and hacking themselves. Exploitation is pretty infectious, despite the consequences if people see an opportunity to make the game easier on themselves they'll usually take the risk (even if they regret it later) so it wouldn't be that hard for it to spread like fire through friends and people that commonly visited the same internet cafe.

Either way, with the sheer amount of pinoy players that are on gamez, its not too hard for them to be the highest number of players that exploit/hack, and people tend to notice, in turn giving pinoys in general a bad reputation.

 

Here at my place, only few poeple play MMO, cuz most of the population is into party and drinking ...
And From those few only few knows about Aion, better for me, feels like I am representing my Country !!
