aion problem

i ghet this error when i start aion C:\Windows\system32\D3DX9_38.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. i reistaled the game and the NCSoft luncher, instaled the directx9c, directx SDK, and nothing i still ghet this error plz help, or tell me haw can i start the NCSoft directx updater agan maby if i update directx with the NCSfot it will work

 

just run retail aion from the ncsoft launcher, their errors tend to be more specific. ive seen this happen be4 that it told u to get the latest directx (while u already have 9.0c)

 

i did run aion frome NCSoft and it gives me that errors and i allredy have directx 11 on my pc, instaled directx 10 to and it did no good

 

err did u just say u had 11 and tried 10? u do know aion runs on directx 9.0c right? u need that, get this

what operating system do u use. and did u restart ur pc after installing that? sounds like just that file could be corrupt. anyways this is definitely a directx related error, not related to aion/ncsoft launcher. there r other places to get just that dll that u can try, some1 could also try send u theirs

go check the folder it tells u its in, see if the file is there or missing, that will make it clearer

 

i am running on windows7 32 bit, the file is there maby is not working like it shoud. i restared offcorce

 

i have win 7 64bit but dont think it matters much. i suggest u make a backup of that file, then u can try replace it with this

edit: scratch that, found something that might work

"i renamed the d3dx9_38.dll in both the system32 and syswow64 folders to
d3dx9_38.dll.ORIGINAL. Then ran the directx_aug2008_redist. tried fallout3
and it loaded the dll fine. then deleted the old files. "

basically what he did was the equivalent of removing whatever version there is and reinstalling directx after (seems like the file got corrupted across installations coz it couldnt be overwritten or something)

so...make a backup/rename it (so its basically not there) and reinstall directx 9.0c from the link i sent u, should fix it

 

i replace the file with the one u send and it workes naw, that was the problem ty a lot.

 

yeah the file got corrupted during an installation, either of those methods would have fixed it
