Help!

I was just wondering if anyone here knows what 'essential dynamics' mean. If it is used in a question like this " What are the essential dynamics to be found in a relationship ?" I've searched the internet and all i saw is definitions about physics/biology. Thanks in advance !

 

Probably something like 'What are the key things a relationship needs to succeed' maybe?

EDIT: Wait, in what context is this? Relationship between 2 people or a relationship between two entities? (programming) or something else?

 

It's for english class. It's a relationship between characters of a play.

 

Well in that case someone who probably does high level English could answer much better than me but i think they want to know the key elements to the character's relationship with one another, like are they in love? are they friendly? etc etc

 

Well we were given a set of relationships such as father-daughter, master/servant. Basically every relationship that can be found in the play. We have to find what are these 'essential dynamics'. I could understand the question however I'm not sure what 'essential dynamics' mean so i can't really answer the question accurately.

 

'Essential Dynamics' could also mean 'something that changes'

Like a Dynamic Character within a story or play is a great way to add depth to a story. A dynamic character will undergo an important change within the course of the story. This change is usually internal, as a result of the action in the plot.

So maybe it means what are the essential changes that occur between the character's relationship.

 

Could 'essential dynamics' also mean how a specific relationship is suppose to be? for instance, a father/daughter relationship. In this relationship the daughters/children are suppose to be loyal,obedient to their parents.

The meaning of Dynamic is 'Motion', so for characters to have a dynamic relationship with someone means that it changes all the time and never steady or static.

I'd like to say that Sycth got the basic meaning down. For me, "dynamic" means that it's characterized by a particular movement/motive, and "essential" means that it can't be left out/indispensable, thus making "essential dynamic" the indispensable sets of movement/motive of a particular subject (in this case, different relationships.)

For example, the essential dynamic of a father-daughter relationship is the need to protect/care/love, while the essential dynamic of a slave/master relationship is the urge for one to dominate the other. You could say that essential dynamics are the factor that differentiates one type of relationship and another.

 

As you've mentioned above daughters are suppose to love/care/obey their father. So basically essential dynamics is how a relationship should work or what are the typical interactions between the said relationships? or did i get the idea wrong?
