What the hell does playing a female character vs. a male character in a video game have anything to do with insecurity o-o

Not saying you or your husband are wrong since its not you that said it but the article, just that sounds like some mighty high bullcrap that someone came up with.

I love playing female characters, but it really comes down to what I like to look at. No, I'm not going to say what everyone else says "I'd rather stare at a female ass than a male ass", because when it comes down to it I really hope people aren't staring at asses in the first place in a game.

In the end, it comes down to armor style, or voices, animations, etc.

In WoW for example, I currently play as a Human Female. I wouldn't play a Human Male ever because they sound ridiculous, have retarded animations, and look unbearable.

On Aion, I've played male characters a few times - for example playing as a Chanter with Forgotten Abyssal set, looks a whole lot better as a male than it does as a female.

On the other hand, pretty much any robe set looks better on female than a male imo, so I always play female sorcs.

That may just be me, but I don't see how anyone would play female instead of male because of "insecurities". I'd more likely believe someone would set their muscles and muscle tone to maximum and their height as high as it will go as a male because of their insecurities.

Anyway, theres quite a lot of girls that actually play MMOs nowadays, things are changing and some games (e.g. - WoW) are breaking the social norm in which gaming used to be frowned upon by certain groups, and now female gamers are becoming more and more frequent.

You can never really tell how many are real on private servers because of how easy it is to portray someone on a private server, whereas playing retail you usually have to be able to talk on ventrilo, maintain a reputation, put a lot of time into something and people are a bit more matured.

I do know that Bella, Jellybean, Dimi, and Regii for sure are female ;3
I'm pretty convinced that some others are too, but I haven't heard them on vent yet, so those are the only ones I'll mention

i have both, i mostly play female char since the gear is in 99% of the cases better looking then the male´s version.
not much gear that look good on male.. mostly plate. but yeah that is the main reason. and its always nice to look at when then run =)

It's very hard to make a male character in Aion actually look straight and not gay because of the armors, voice, and hair. I tried to make a male char to play just for the fun of it, and it looked like something that stef or momo would be into >.>. Girls by far look better and have better looking clothing/armor/voices.

Oh and I find it funny that any girl would admit that they are a girl in this thread or to people they barely know :3, cause it either means,
1: They are desperate for attention
2: They need to reassure themselves that people continue to think of them as girls when they really arn't.

Most girls just want to play the game, not have 50 guys messaging them wanting something else :3. I don't mean all girls btw, but certain ones.
