2.7 Is there no fix for this problem?

Did everything PetromaniaC and the guide from SmartiK1 said to do multiple times now. i have deleted and copied in the old Bin32 and data folder for 2.6 replaced the Item.pak file. changed the settings file back to 2.6.0.1 The game works but the map (m) and area map seem to still be bugged. i have done everything i can to fix the problem but no luck. Is there going to be a fix posted anytime soon? if not is there somewhere that those of us with this problem can download 2.6. I do appreciate all the help we have been getting i just thought by now there would have been a tested fix.

 

some files were replaced with an entirely new format and thats why private servers get the error.

 

So that doesn't answer when we that messed up get to play lol. i just wanted to play GamezAion again...=( and it sucks but maybe somebody will come along and help =)

 

yes there is a way to fix that just copy the game from a friend. I`ll do that as soon as possible

 

there r more ways to fix it, however a manual fix seems impossible, tried already. the 1 file likely causing it causes a crash at start when u replace it with the one from 2.6

u can do a system restore to a point before u updated, that reverts ur client to 2.6 (although u lose any programs installed since that point)

u can torrent a 2.6 client or yeah copy paste it from a friend and replace ur own, aion doesnt need an installation

 

But it is still a problem that will persist for new players so it may need a good stickied solution new players can find before gamez/crystal do go 2.7

 

tbh the only solution for new players is torrenting a 2.6 client or copying the game from a friend. i tried making a custom fix but the file most likely responsible for this is incompatible and causes a crash when replaced

its ...\NCSoft\Aion\L10N\1_enu\data\data.pak

tried replacing all the rest and it didnt fix it, this is the only1 i cant replace so id bet its the cause

 

I have searched for a torrent..any suggestion?

I wonder if I can do 2 Aion folders and rename them when I want to play Crystal or something - thing is I got the correct-for-Crystal installation on this PC, but cant play here, too crappy vid card, just used it to trade to alts etcetera. But I could copy the lot to my Game PC and use another folder(name) so I can switch lol - do I still make sense? If so, you think that might work?
I am playing on a 2.7 server as well you see. Bit ADHD me xD

 

yes it would work, copy paste the whole aion folder on ur other pc, install ncsoft launcher, run it, right click aion in the games list -> properties -> browse, locate the aion.bin file to link the folder to the launcher, install the gamez launcher into ur aion folder and run the game

as always make sure the region is set to north america and auto updating is turned off be4 u do anything else

but 1st question is this server running on window7 or need to be xp coz launcher say it moded for xp service pack 3

ncsoft launcher is already installed there but updated that lot to 2.7

So you say browse to the folder I created under another name? Say Aion2 ?

 

yes it works on win7, even 64 bit one

yes, locate the aion.bin in the 2.6 game but FIRST turn off auto updating to make sure it wont update to 2.7 as well

found a 2.6 client but u gotta register on the site and download it in 700mb rar files. otherwise we would have to create our own torrent

when i runing the launcher why it say "This file contains invailed data"

 

u need to get a LOT more specific than that

what version of the client are you using? what launcher? done any modifications to it?

 

If someone were to seed their file what would we have to do to get that? i have never received files that way before?

 

u would use a program like uTorrent, they would send you a small magnet link that would start transferring their aion folder to your harddrive. while you download, you also share the bits you already downloaded (upload) so others can get the file from both of you. this way the network gets bigger and bigger. the more people that have the client and seed it, the more people you can connect to simultaneously to get it (effectively increasing the download speed as it consists of all the seeders upload combined)
