We live our lives according to our choosing and I can definitely understand why you would live like that. I mean why not live for yourself? I've asked myself the same question. We want to have fun and enjoy our life without having to worry about a lot of other people. We only have one life after all. Better live it while you can.

Some of us, though, find enjoyment in helping others. Others find enjoyment in helping themselves. I love helping other people. I've been like that pretty much my entire life.

Not saying that I don't like helping others...but there is a limit. Picking up a dying person is definitely crossing it.

Oh I didn't mean it that way lol. I should have clarified it more. What I meant was just that their are people out there who just want to help themselves completely and not be bothered with other people. Wasn't actually referring to you or anything.

I consider those guys that only live 'life for the moment' a leech, living off someone else's money and calling that hard work. You can't live into your 70's being like that, your soul will be lonely and miserable. The people that do these kinds of things are teenagers or young adults, they haven't lived on this planet long enough to define what life is, it's bigger than being in a comfortable, rotational lifestyle that is convenient only for yourself. (I know this isn't entirely connected to the subject of the topic but I had to say it).

Speaking of those 18 people who didn't even mind the kid, I think there was also a bit same scenario in my home country, Philippines. 2 teenagers were found lying in a popular mall due to gun shots and for some minutes or an hour I think no one dared to touch or help the teenagers until the medic and the police team came. The parents of the 2 teenagers were really mad at the establishment's employees/authorities because they did nothing aside of secluding the place so that they can avoid unnecessary people in the scene. They planned to file a case against the establishment's managers but the police said that what the employees did was right. In case of such tragedies/incidents like that - gun shots, fell from a high place, or hit by a vehicle, no one is allowed to touch the body of the victim that it may cause more problems/trouble on the victim's situation. Who knows maybe the victim broke some bones on his chest then when a civilian tries to move it, the broken bones hit the internal organs that may cause the victim to die? Only those who knows what to do, preferably licensed nurse, medic, etc. are allowed to touch a victim. If not, the police has all the rights to file a case against that good samaritan depending on the situation.

But regardless if it's a law or will cause inconvenience, at least they should have guarded the body of the kid grabbed their cellphones and called an ambulance, doesn't have to touch the kid's body nor move it but at least guard it so that the other van wont be able to hit the kid's body the 2nd time while struggling for her life.

I agree. I've met a lot of people who live off the families money. They do no hard work for themselves because they believe that they can live their privledged lifestyle forever without actually doing any work. I can name quite a lot of celebrities who do this as well. One thing I always told myself was that if I ever came into a lot of money by some random means, either through working or some form of lottery, I'd be careful on what I did with it. Don't want to end up like these other people out splurging millions on ridiculous cars and mansions they don't need.

Anyways off the main subject. I've only heard a little bit about her case recently. Seems a lot of buzz in China still around this case. Mostly debates on morality. I wonder how this will pan out in the end.

We are living in the world where most of the "good samaritans" are not genuinely care,
and those who are actually good and genuinely care are forced not to be one.

Yes, because of this. For example. >.>
