You're gonna need a d3d8thk.dll file for the 64bit aion client, and no such exists, and Fyyre doesn't plan to make one soo, well no way so far.

    Ah ok :/
I've put a d3d8thk.dll file, you are right, it was in bin32 folder...

shit, who is fyyre? why doesnt want to make a 64bit version while there is a bin64?

Why do you need aion running in 64bit?

well, as we fight huge zergs now, i think it's a waste of ressources to play on 32 bit.

we could probably gain some useful fps by playing with a 64bit version (full use of RAM)

actually, i don't lag that much but aion is only using 2.9gb of ram (on my computer)...

32 Bit programs are able to use up to 4 GB of ram and the game wasn't designed to take advantage of 64 bit technology if I remember correctly so running the game in 64 bit wouldn't change much if anything at all.

You lagging in zergs isn't because of the game not using enough RAM, its just the game was poorly designed and optimized.

no 32bit softwares can't use more than 2-3 gb :/
Retail players can use a 64 bit version now (wasn't possible at the begining, you are right).
So that's why i wondered if we could use it too.

i'm not lagging while we meet zergs (still ~30fps on a 50v50 fight), but it would be better if we could use the full memory...

Look it up on Microsoft.com 32-bit programs are able to access up to 4 GB of ram. Even if you are able to run the game in 64-bit mode, it won't change anything

its 3-3.5gb for 32 bits but the memory isnt the only thing

64 bit programs require a complete rework, it was not only coded to allow more ram to be used, but they reworked it completely, making it more efficient (learning from the mistakes of their 32 bit version). they could make the 32 bit better too but who wants to do all that work :p

aion isnt THAT ram hungry :p it wont use that much even if u let it

    News | Aion Online

On retail they're removing 64 bit accessibility because the game isn't coded correctly aka you using a 64 bit version on Gamez won't change anything even if you get it to work =S

Which is why I said it won't change anything lol

"Having an unsupported and untested version available has caused problems for many players who try to use it unsuccessfully. Our tech support is unable to assist players with this version, and for this reason it will be removed until it is ready for release as a fully supported and tested version."

r u kidding me? just coz some noobs dunno how to use it (probably people with 32 bit systems trying to run a 64bit app) they remove it completely lol

they should let people who wanna use it use it and those who dont have the 32 bit alternative >.> oh boy. and they even said the 64 bit doesnt lagg even a bit

It's a IP-check removal dll (required for playing private servers).

Nah its NCSofts fault, people can't even use the 64 bit program if they're on 32-bit it won't start up. They didn't take the time to go through and make sure that 64-bit was compatible with the game which brought about numerous unnecessary issues.

err...no 64 bit application will ever run on a 32 bit system, has nothing to do with ncsoft. and yes, the 64 bit ran on 64 bit systems, read the retail forums. people liked the absence of lagg on the 64 bit clients

I played Retail on 64bit and I can tell it's much better. However we're unfaithful here in Gamez, as in all privates servers WITH ONE AS EXCLUSION -- GUESS WHICH, and can't have it as well ;c.
