Game doesn't launch

    There might've been similar threads, I've actually seen one in the archives.

    When I launch the game it just closes instantly. Sometimes the aion box appears, sometimes it doesn't.
    Is there any way to fix that?

    DirectX, graphic card drivers, update them.

    I'll now try repair it..

    Yes, of course.
    When I launch the .bin file with "launch as administrator" it says "neither aion.bin or aion.exe could be found" o_O
    Repaired the game. The same thing.

    Are you launching the game from inside your aion folder?

    c/program files/ncsoft/aion

    Yeah.
    I google'd it a bit and found out that it's a problem with d3d8thk.dll . If I delete it - the update button appears on the launcher. I update it and the same thing repeats - the file is being downloaded back there.
    Any ways to fix this problem?

    p.s. does it have to be necessarily C/Program Files/NCSoft/Aion?
    I don't have enough free space for that. Didn't think it could be a problem.

    That directory is fine to use, as for your d3d8 file i will let smartik handle that for you. xD

    the d3d8thk.dll is used by private servers, its what prevents u from logging to retail servers, if u dont have it the launcher gets it for u just coz u cant play on gamez without it. its not a win 7 problem either btw

    how did u get aion? make sure its properly linked in the ncsoft launcher (right click aion inside it -> properties -> browse and locate the aion.bin)

    Yeah, I know what it is. I downloaded it with the ncsoft launcher, everything is fine...still doesn't work. :(

    check ur task manager processes tab when u run aion, see what happens to the aion.bin process when u run the game. if it stays open or shuts down too

    try turn off the user account control (the bs that asks u if ur really really sure whenever u try to do anything). its in control panels -> users -> UAC (last option)

    it causes quite a few problems with aion

    running outa ideas. guess u can still try the bat launcher
    GamezAion.bat

    paste it in ur aion folder and run if it changes anything. also try run the game from ur ncsoft launcher

    yeah, I tried the bat thing already, still nothing. Imma try the launcher...if it doesn't work I guess I won't be able to play...
    Oh well, life happens. xD
