Change the LIKE phrase to THANK ?

title says it all. the system is the same, the only thing that would change is the phrase "Like" to "Thank"

 

Why don't you implement "Like" "Dislike" "Thank" tabs at the same time?

 

or "+1" is much better since people just usually click "like" when they agree or perhaps sometimes having the same opinion.

The +1 button summarizes it all (Like,Thanks,Agree)

 

Could you in fact bring the old thanking system, where it was directly listing the people who thanked it (without the need of clicking on something to view more) ?

First world problems.

 

The system we use for this it's very extensive and would be very hard to code such functions.

I'll see if I can make it show all the users who liked the post.

 

I've seen some broken aion private servers (not willing to advertise) using that kind of a forums which has "Thank this post" "Like this post" "Dislike this post" under each comments left in every threads, so I assume it would not be that hard.

Also implementing thank w/o like, or reversed makes no sense, because thanking someone for what he said, and liking on a certain comment is not the same, imo.

 

kinda agree, if it aint broken, dont fix it. there isnt really a difference. would be better to focus on things that dont work (maybe finally fix the pass reset mail not getting sent to every1, keep dealing with it a lot)

You can't really set up priority like that since thanking & liking approaches every posts from a different angle...

 

i'll split this in two halfs.

For us it is, because we use a plugin which we cannot modify, and by now it can't be uninstalled either because it would break all the forum links indexed in search engines. It is called VBSEO and best thing to do when you have such an extensive plugin is to not play with its source code because any little mistake can get the forum to break.

This is the main reason I created this poll. I believe this button would have a much better use if it was to "thank" someone's post rather than "liking it".. It is two completely different things, and thanking a post makes a lot more sense to me.

 

it makes no sense if somebody comments on a pvp video or something else why would we THANK him? just make both of em

 

It's more about being useful. It depends on how you use forums for tho.

 

As per the first part, understood.
For the second part, I believe thanking sounds awkward in certain situations, I mean it perfectly suits threads including great suggestions, but when someone's posting some Aion footage then like suits better.

Imo, like is way more versatile, and it goes well with even "liking suggestions" but thank can not be used in a couple cases because it would just seem...weird

its ironic that it was a thank button to begin with, then u change it to like, then back to thank, think there r more useful things to work on rather than swapping a button label back and forth
