Crystal Aion next to Gamez Aion doesn't work

Hello,

I tried installing the launcher for Crystal Aion (2.7) but it doesn't start.
Asus wants to update my BIOS when I start the launcher. I installed it next to the Gamez Aion launcher and that one still works.

I tried repairing Aion but it didn't help. I saw it doesn't remove any files, so that might be it.

I read in a thread that if you want both launcher, you just install them both. So not sure what the problem is.
I even tried to update my BIOS, but it says it can't find the file at ftp.asus.com.tw (My BIOS should be up-to-date anyway)

Help me please :sad:

I posted this in the Crystal Aion section, but it has far less visitors and I'm eager to play.
I suspect this problem has effected multiple people so someone from Gamez Aion might be able to help me as well.

 

I just did a complete reinstall of the game with only the Crystal Aion launcher, and the exact same issue persists.

 

a screenshot would be nice
the 1 thing launchers need is .net framework 4 but i dont see why 1 would work and the other wouldnt

anyways until u fix it use the crystal bat launcher, that one wont ask u for anything

Just the Framework did nothing, but I'm installing the updates for it as we speak. I will let you know.

u mean after clicking start in the crystal launcher? does the game even start loading? (as in the blue preloader frame or the black ncsoft screen). kinda curious how far ur loading gets and if u get any errors be4 this shows up. ive never seen anything like it

 

I simply double-click the CAL icon, something will load, nothing will appear and then the BIOS update screen comes.
So I don't get to see the launcher, and no loading screens whatsoever.
With the GAL there are no issues at all.

btw does the crystal bat launcher work?

 

The hourglass next to my cursor appears. The .bat does not work either.
Do I have to run that or something? I just put it in the Aion directory and tried launching the Crystal Aion Launcher. But like I said, that didn't work.

 

yes lol the bat launcher is a substitute for the real launcher, it launches aion.bin with the correct IP to connect u to the crystal server
(u can right click it and edit if u want, it opens in notepad and u see the content)

 

Oh, how do I run it? My PC recognizes it as a .txt file. Simply renaming it to .exe doesn't work xD /fail

 

oh crap lol >.> u set it to open in notepad by default, now the file association is all wrong xD what OS do u use? ill have to reset the file type association to make it open with command prompt again

double click it, it modifies ur system registry to restore the default bat file association xD

The same thing happened to my friend, everytime he wanted to play CrystalAION

ASUS UPDATE would pop up instead

how he fixed it, removed ASUS UPDATEr

its still weird, it shouldnt do that lol. also i thought the gamez and crystal launchers were compiled the same way (cant really see into it). anyways yea the updater is kinda useless as it is, u dont need a bios update till u make a major hardware change anyway

u should still download the registry fix for bat files though so u can actually run them when u need them (instead of opening them in notepad) xD
