The point is, they never explicitly asked for a donation. From my views, this is a campaign to raise awareness, and so far it's working.

The comment section in your article provides a lot of insightful information too.

Never knew about Joseph Kony until this video was posted in Facebook, shared by a friend of mine. While watching, it made me feel sad about those kids being abducted for Kony's army. But what made me more sad is that the only country that can make a difference, powerful enough to stop this kind of man is playing safe. As what the narrator was saying, they should act for what is right, and not for what is only good for them. Because it does not concern them they shouldn't do something?

Of course, the initial reaction of the people who were able to watch this video is to hate Kony *no reason to not to for what he is doing* and help spread the news to make him visible, as well hate the U.S. government for not doing what is right to be done about this and I cannot really know what to react about this for only God knows why on Earth I never heard about this Kony even from a news. Really weird isn't it?? People does not care? He is on the #1 list, why people wont care?

Well, what I know is this... This 30minutes video experiment absolutely worked and succeeded. Online communication is really powerful. Scares me a bit actually how the world's perception changes because of a simple video..

People do not care because in africa thats daily life stuff... kill one warlord, 2 new arise worst than the last one. I am not saying is not important... I am just sayin that putting some starving beaten kids in a video wont change much. And Kony is a warlord from a decade ago pushed out of Uganda into Congo. I dont quite really get why its important to start a mnahunt now...

I think it does make a difference, it changes some things. Considering how the people on the internet reacted and made such uproar after watching the said video with starving, beaten kids. And because of that, more people are thinking that Africa deserves to be a better place than that one where you said, with a daily kind of living. Let's say 2 decades of being a warlord. What is wrong here is when they let this man rule over Uganda for 2 decades. He should have been stopped ever since. But no. Since U.S. thinks, it is none of their business, then it is none of their business. Regardless if there are these certain laws/rules being passed on every country in the world, this man will just live as if he is living in the era where no rules/laws are being applied.

The whole point of the video is that, it should not be the way it is and since it shouldn't, it should be stopped. It is never too late. It is, when he is already dead and can no longer repent on what he did to those kids and their families.

So you are ok with beginning a manhunt, with all that implies, killing, invading, etc on someone that is not relevant to uganda anymore... The real help should be to make those kids into something else, reunite them with their families, try to improve their lifes... Hunting that guy wont do anything, they will call it mission acomplished and everythig will stay the same, its the easy way. Its the same mentality which things have been tried to been solved in the last 2 decades, and the world is not better place.

If someone commits suicide there really isn't a point in helping them because they would be dead, same with someone having a heart attack. (Not only that but I'm not qualified to do cpr or any sort of medical help as I am not a doctor nor even a nurse.) So your point is pretty much invalid.

Donating to an organization that is calling for the death of someone is not something I would even waste money on. Sorry but as the old saying goes: "Violence begets violence" And "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" If people really gave two shits about Africa then they would have at least donated to the countless charities already in place for getting children education, food, water, shelter, etc..Not some scam that's only point is to either take your money and not distribute it and or only point is to kill some warlord who has already been charged with his crimes.

In the end this just makes me wonder about the state of society. When this shit is on the news and whatever no one bats an eye but some idiot posts a video everyone suddenly cares. What the ****?

while saying america doesnt want to get involved you are doing the same thing "well i cba to help heres 25$ to "charity" " if you REALLY want to PERSONALLY help you'd get enough money to fly to africa and your precious Uganda (that im sure you wouldnt even know where it is unless you google it) kill this "Kony" guy and get those children one at a time to their (if still alive) families. Now you'd say thats stupid and not serious but face it thats the only way to "do something " and help.Like i said before donating to charity and companies is basicaly passing the job to some1 else .We all have problems and neither are my problems bigger than the africans' nor are theirs bigger than mine its just a point of view.Half the people are scared of losing their job and the world isnt secure enough to abandon their own problems and interfere with others'

We all are too used to living in the comfort zone that the gov't and our predecessors have built up for us.

News? Pssht, as if Americans have the incentives to broadcast anything outside of our relevant interests. Unless it's CNN or something.

What could be the point of saving the kids from his custody when after that, he will just be around and can just make his new army in no time? If the person is captured, then it will be safe to think that it wont happen again, at least not because of him. I am against the manhunt that may lead on losing some lives of the kids he captured and I just wish there is another way for this to be resolved. But not making a difference regarding the issue just because it is like that ever since is something absurd to believe and comprehend. And I think the reason why they are not afraid of doing what is wrong regardless of breaking the laws of humanity is because no one is showing them what is right and what/who to be afraid of. If this movement for KONY will be successful, I guess those who will try to follow his footsteps will think twice before doing so. Because they will realize, the world is no longer the same. People even from different race cares and gives a damn now.

In the streets, we got the corner kids, the dope fiends and the cook, competition decided one of the three has to go so the game is balance, they took the fiends and supplied them with dope on the table, it wasn't enough, they still kept hitting that old stuff. So the competition decided to take out the corner kids that sold the dope, the cook resupplied his hustle and the game remained unchanged. This time they took out the cook who was versatile in the arts of drug making, as the distributor was unable to find another genius as the cook, the game was set for the ones who shot the bullet, but the game didn't end, it just went to plan B.

if those 100 military men built low cost environmental-friendly housing for everyone in 1 year they would have made the difference for everyone and would last a lifetime.

They are doing it because its normal for them-- they deal with violence, so your solution is to bring more violence?? How many more have to be killed so they get they heads straight?

We love to think that our values applies for everyone, that our rights and wrongs views are absolute... we praise ourselves that we are righteous... and that higher ground is to give them more violence? more of the same? that is what we are supposed to support, believe and think? Sorry not my game.... in the last 50 or so years the solution to everything has been drop some bombs and let the bullets fly, the world its just a worse place.

This movement wont change anything, it will only give him an excuse to ready himself more and have more bodyguards made of children. He feeds on that, so we are gonna give him more reasons to keep feeding?

You say people give a damn now... so, how long do you think this topic will be forgotten if the guy is killed.... yay! Kony death by mortar fire along with 50 kids and their guts splatteres in 25 meters square... there problem solved. :p ... There is not even a need for him to be killed... here in this local virtual space.. our forums... in a couple weeks, this topic will be in 3 pages the bottom and everyone will be just the same, worring over a bug that made them loose 50 ap.

Thats the problem with emotional, touchy publicity like this one... emotions come and go and are replaced by new ones. I am not against the awareness of this things, there has to be, but its done wrong, its just a way to get money, and its twisted.
