Windows XP Issue---

Hi guys.. I installed Aion on my friends computer.. He's currently running windows XP...
We already updated the network-frame.. After clicking on start the aion will load and before it reach the log-on screen the client crash... Anyone knows how to fix? Thanks a lot

 

.net framework is only for the actual gamez launcher crashing. it will not fix the actual aion client crashes

does he get any errors? also whats his antivirus (avast is being a ***** and shuts down the client when u start it, u gotta set an exception in the file system shield)

otherwise cant hurt to install directx 9.0c since many errors r related to it

extract it, run dxsetup.exe, restart ur pc when ur done

Client instantly shuts down after blue logo in the middle of the screen

Caused by the antivirus program (even when nothing is infected). Set an exception in your antivirus for the whole aion folder (or the NCSoft folder if you have aion in it) or temporarily disable your antivirus while you start the game

Avast - Real Time Shields -> File System Shields -> Expert Settings -> Exclusions and add *\NCSoft\* if you have aion in the NCSoft folder, otherwise rename NCSoft to Aion (or whatever your aion folder is called). This means that it will not scan anything inside a folder with that name regardless of where the folder is located. This problem started after the recent Avast version 7 update.

 

We open the avast on file system shield we didn't find any exception, we found exclusion instead... However we also try to include the aion there... We will try to launch the game now,, Thanks

 

check the steps above, include the entire folder not just the executable it didnt like some of the dlls in the bin32 folder if i remember, but this is the best way to go

ok well thats progress. at least not u know the antivirus issue that was there is fixed, lets move on to the next one

this error generally means that some of the files r corrupt or incompatible. ill ask like this. have u downgraded yet? if yes, then its coz ur 1 of the few people that need the data.pak in it in the L10N\2_enu\data\ folder instead of 1_enu\data\ where most of us need it. u can either fix it manually by copying it from from 1_enu to 2_enu and overwriting, or by downloading and applying the 3rd (experimental stage) fix

edit: dont apply the items.pak until ur client actually works coz that 1 can do it too and most win xp people never get it to work, operating system issue

 

Yeah i just realize that i just copied the whole aion from my windows 7 computer, so probably its the itempack, let me try to downgrade it... Thanks much

 

if its the items.pak, either put the original one back or repair the client followed by downgrade (which should restore the original)

after u repair, make sure u can at least get to the login screen (so u know any errors after that were caused by the downgrade and ur client was in a working condition)

 

some win xp cannot use the item.pak.. u can only use the default itempak

 

most cant already told him ^^
