hii im soo loving this game.. but this morning i tried to play and im having problems

im having problems because i cant seem to connect ... it says something about direct x .. i keep on downloading the direct x that is required... but it still isnt working... can somebody giv me the right directions to download the right direct x... where to put it, what version, etc... please i need help... i love this game..

 

So it worked before and now it's broken?
If so, do you by any chance have a NVIDIA graphics card?
Their recent driver update screwed with my aion & gave me a direct x error but I put the old driver back on (version 295.73) and it fixed it.
Could try that if its the case

 

nvidia graphics card??.. uhmm ok, i dont know what that is.. but i think my computer does have it... i dont know much about computers... would u help me find what nvidia graphics card i have and how to put the old driver back on version 295.73

When I got a problem about DirectX, all I did was run retail once, then it downloaded some stuff and I could play Aion fine.

 

Okay to find out what graphics card you have, click the windows button on your keyboard and the pause button at the same time.
Then in the window that pops up, look in device manager and the graphics card you have is under Display Adapters

if he doesnt know what it is, i highly doubt its a graphics card driver, due to the simple reason that graphics drivers dont update by themselves. as long as his computer is not a month old, he doesnt have the latest one

first of all id try install the right directx which is 9.0c
Download DirectX 9.0c (Jun 10) - Download - FileHippo.com
extract, run dxsetup.exe and restart ur pc afterwards

some programs reconfigure it and it has to be reinstalled (i had to reinstall it 3 times in 2 months for no real reason). otherwise the downgrade can cause this too so if installing directx doesnt fix it, delete ur bin32 folder and replace it with the 2nd version of the downgrade (specifically made to fix this error)

he means clicking the play button in the ncsoft launcher, however to do that u have to update to the latest version which isnt supported here, so ull just end up having to downgrade again

 

it says ATI Radeon HD 5700 series

 

Then NVIDIA isn't your problem, sorry dude.

its fine, u tried and yea i heard somebody having issues with the latest nvidia driver recently as well so u werent exactly wrong

anywhere, its like extracting an installer from a rar file, its just temporary files u can delete afterwards

the important part is to run the actual setup and not just extract it
