Petition: Alente - Server Access

Hey guys. I'm posting this to voice a petition regarding Alente and the recent server instability.

As you're all no doubt aware Gamez has been crashing daily as of late, usually when Alente is on, forcing the man to call up Carl and seemingly hope to god the man wakes up. As we saw last night that doesn't always work.

On that note I'm writing this thread to try gain some support, we understand that stability is an issue being worked on but in the meantime it seems rather silly that only Carl can restart the darn thing when it's crashing every night.

Why not pass Alente remote desktop access to the server machine for booting the login/game realms? Surely if he wanted to bugger things up he would have done so long before now with his admin powers here on the forum and in the game itself.

Donations may be voluntary and we may not all pay but you cannot expect a server to survive when everything possible is not being down to keep it up and running smoothly.

I don't think this petition is fair.

Though, I wouldn't mind if someone else had server reboot access. Also, teamviewer wouldn't work because the password would get changed every connection. Windows has a feature called "Remote Desktop Connection" which is mainly used to manage dedicated servers. Although, Carl does get the restart in as fast as possible since Alente has his phone number.

Edit: You can say something like

"THANK THIS THREAD TO SIGN IT" instead.

But yeah we saw last night that doesn't always work, Carl was called and didn't show up for what... four hours?

Carl will probably give access to whoever is most trustworthy and at the same time, active. Running a success like Gamez Aion means keeping your priorities up top. If Carl just gave random access to the head gms, what if one gets power hungry and decides to steal the files and kill Gamez Aion? Wouldn't be nice now would it.

Time will tell.

 

Can you think of someone better? Honestly?

From what I've seen he's the only active senior staff member we see day in and day out doing everything humanly possible to keep us all happy and work for the community as a whole.

I do believe Alente is currently up top for getting server access, and yes he does his job quite well and always goes above and beyond. Carl's just being secure about his decisions.

Chloraform begged for power, you don't see Alente doing the same, now do you.

Flattered but we've seen time and time again public demand threads don't really have any effect on Carl ;p

Still it's nice to be appreciated I guess so thanks for that oO
