Experienced Developer Application

Oh hi there and welcome to my developer application thread,

This must be very awkward for you if you aren't an administrator or someone with influential power -- but nonetheless we shall continue!

A few things about me, I go by several different names, you may know me as Serux, Skittles, or that guy that is incredibly sexy. I prefer the ladder if you would be so kind. As you can tell I am a relaxed chill person and tend to take my social interactions as such, but when it comes to working my effort and work mentality surpasses that of many.

My background:

I first got introduced with coding back in the day of Warrock, a free to play fps. I learned the basics of hacking and coding, and eventually passed those who taught me. In search of a new team I evolved and my talents continued to blossom.

A list of my coding knowledge not in any significant order.

Visual Basic - Proficient
C++ - Proficient
C# - Moderate/Proficient
Delphi - Moderate
Java - Proficient/Exceeds Expectations
HTML - Proficient
PHP - Moderate
SQL - Proficient
Perl - Moderate

I may be forgetting a few, but that's not a big deal.

Anyways I have a significant background in hacking(client modification, packet manipulation, and reverse engineering). -- OH GOD! HES A HACKER!

Yes I am. But what you are playing on requires all 3 of those key aspects to hacking.

Client Modification - No-ip fix is the most prevalent thing that comes to mind when dealing with direct modifications.
Packet Manipulation - Sniffing and decrypting packets is the base work to getting the simplest things to work or fail on a server.
Reverse Engineering - Understanding the structure of the game and how it interacts is going to be incredibly beneficial when creating and fixing new content.

I have done work for other servers, if you really want to know please contact me, but due to, what bullshit can I put here, they just had no idea how to deal with a developer that had ideas to fix their problems, they had problems and wanted ways to fix them but when a rational or even irrational solution presented itself from a 3rd party source they would not have any part of it. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink, unless you try drowning it, then I'm pretty sure it wont be thirsty.

I have extensive experience in the retail client having multiple max levels( at the time), and I myself am an avid pvper.

As of current I have approximately 50 hours a week to dedicate to a project of my choosing, and so far I chose this.

The methods I chose to use when programming are, well, not textbook approval. I am an outside of the box thinker and when it comes to problem solving I always go for the most efficient and practical solution. Having 50 lines of code to do something I can easily deal with in 10 is ignorant and should be modified accordingly.

TL;DR - Experienced dev in Aion emulation seeking a place to spend 50 hrs+ a week devoting times to advancing the emulation of gamez.

Good luck to you, it seems like you know your stuff well, and you speak English properly while having a very professionally developed application, so I'd love to see you accepted. Unfortunately I have no say in the matter, so instead I'll just say...yep.avi

Haven't seen a good thread app like this since griff. I really hope the devs take a look at it, but I would maybe like to see an elaboration on the time you deved on these other servers.

What he said. We really need someone to mess with the servers setup a lil. Buncha things need emergent fixes in my opinion ^_^
