I can run Aion on my desktop perfectly without errors.I am running my Aion client on version 2.7.0.1. I tried to copy my Aion from my desktop into my laptop and somehow I couldn't get it to work there. My laptop seems to have decent specs but whenever I open up the client I get the "aion otcbuildclient32_wogg" thing just as the NCSoft logo pops up. Any help out there?

P.S. I got 32bit Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2. I'm running on DX11. My specs are also decent enough to play aion.

Usually when I get that error, it's when I'm in the middle of loading Aion, and I try to do other things, which causes my client to freeze.
Have you tried just letting Aion load up fully?

 

Yeah. When I load it up I'm not doing anything. Seems like I have a different problem

You still need the DX9/10 Redistribution from Microsoft in order for it to work. DX11 is different technology than DX9/10, uses different DLL's and the like. Just go to microsoft.com and search for DirectX 9 Redist, that will be the latest version of DX9.

 

its not a directx issue this time, this is one with file compatiblity. there r 2 things i could think of that could cause this

1. the items.pak can give this error when its not compatible with the system. try download the original in the items.pak guide and see if that fixes it
2. the data.pak in L10N\1_enu\data\ folder. some clients need it in 2_enu as well (depending on which downgrade u used if u downgraded from 2.7.0.2 u might only have it in 1_enu so just copy paste it to the same location from 1_enu to 2_enu and try again)

 

I've tried every item pak and seems like I have no luck xD. Option 2 is already there. I still can't run it.I deeply appreciate the help I'm getting.

 

for the data.pak, i know its there but check that the file size/modified date r the same, coz it might be the 2.7.0.2 one which isnt compatible

as for the items.pak, maybe u swapped it in a different location on ur other pc (there r like 3 different places that people test) so u didnt really replace it with the original

i would say just repair the client (will update to 3.0.0.2) and then downgrade. it will run after that, also putting the original 2.7 items.pak in ur aion\data\usa\items\ folder

btw try run it just be4 u downgrade when its repaired, see if it works

 

I hope you don't take pain on my questions but how do I tell my computer that my aion is installed? I just kinda copy pasted it XD

 

run ur ncsoft launcher (or install it if u dont have it), check that region settings r set to north america and automatic updating off, then right click aion in the games list -> properties -> browse and locate your aion\bin32\aion.bin

after that u can right click -> repair the client as usual

 

The patch is around 3.5GB I'll give it time cause I have a crappy DL speed. Thank you so much for all the help. You seem to be a walking wiki how .
