Today I finally finished putting together my final gear and tested it out. I have to say that it is way too overpowered :p

    Record damage

Here is the gear I am using right now

Primary weapon - Prismere Flame Chakrams

Secondary weapon - Ebony Flame Rod

    Helmet - Spiritweave Headdress

    Robes - Spiritweave Cloth

    Gloves - Spiritweave Mitt

    Boots - Spiritweave Heel

    Shield -Platinum Flame Guard (Talisman)

    Necklace - Overwhelming Medallion

    Ring 1 - Archsage's Ring

    Ring 2 option 1 - Savant's Ring

Ring 2 option 2 - Signet of the Mystic

The first option for 2nd ring gives higher chakram damage because of fire boost and saves a bit more mana, but the 2nd option gives highest overall damage which was achieved by using meteor which is a magical ability

All damage below is non critical hits

Chakram damage - 36k with first ring option, 34k with second ring option
Blink - 9k xD was surprised with this one :p i can insta kill just by pressing space to teleport through them
Mark of flames - 42k with first ring option, 44k with second ring option
Meteor - 369k with first ring option, 384k with second ring option
Meteor mana cost - base 290 (abilities page), 35 with first ring option, 80 with 2nd ring option, both make it virtually free

Extra items used for maximum damage

Greater Damage Boost - 20% damage
Master Blazing Salve - +30 fire damage, +75% fire damage
Master Magic Amplification - +75% Magic Damage
Webwood lorestone set - 6% fire damage
Several twists of fate (story cards)
    Fateshift

    Best components

After a LOT of testing, I found a general way to build all classes as the items I use give high boost to all forms of damage

Damaging bindings/grips/rivets - best component out there, very hard to get, gives 30% boost to all forms of damage. If you ever get just one part of these, do not use it for items you want to wear right away. Use it together with the salvaging trick below to create more of all 3 types from a single component

Everlasting lining/string/trim - best defensive components out there, give 12% damage protection for all forms of damage. With my set, you get 72% damage protection from these components alone. If you add 16% physical from robes and 10% elemental from talisman, thats a total of 88% physical and 82% magical resistance. Together with lorestones and other bonuses spread throughout the game, thats nearly complete protection against all damage

% vs lightly wounded - it sounds weird but its just like damaging for as long as the enemy is above 50% hp (people really debate this subjectively but it doesnt matter, it works vs full hp enemies too). it is very common so stick this on everything unless u can use a 30% damaging component instead. theres a utility gem called conqueror's gem (physical + physical or fire + poison) that gives this and ull need this on every item

The easiest way to get components is the DLC The Legend of Dead Kel. Talk to the gnome in Cape Solace and do all his quests to restore the keep. when it is finished, you will get an ambassador you can send on diplomacy missions. Send her to Emberdeep -> Trade -> 10,000 gold and she will return after a day (2 fast travels, best one is cape solace and back to the keep) with 9-13 components of flawless quality. My advice is to quicksave right before you talk to her and load if you do not get any components that you like. Everlasting and damaging are very rare so it might take a few loads. For this i advise to set F2 as quickload, making the process much faster (F to talk, space + space to skip her convo, esc to close convo, F2 to quickoad if you do not get anything you like, repeat)

    Salvaging tricks

The major trick is not for salvaging regular items you pick up, but for items you craft yourself. This gives you the opportunity to get multiple parts with the same effect from only one component.

    For example

Mage Talisman - pick a random quality base, add a damaging grip (30% damage), press skip on all the other parts and craft. After the item is made, SAVE and salvage it. There is a chance to get both damaging grip as well as damaging binding back (each 30% damage). If you fail, quickload and do it again. Takes a few tries but you will get both eventually. If you have a binding and want to get a grip, you cannot skip over the grip as it goes before bindings in the crafting process. In this case, pick a really weak grip so it is unlikely to get salvaged, place the binding you want to get as grip effect and skip over the rest of the parts.

Warrior gauntlets - used to create rivets + grips from only grips or only rivets using the same method as the above

This guide might give you a general idea of how to create your own components from salvaging and what types can be duplicated

    Storyline bonuses

There are several passive storyline bonuses that will boost your overall damage and other stats

Twists of fate - Awarded for completing various parts of the main story and side quest chains
Warsworn chain - Awards permanent +1 to all might abilities
Traveler chain - Awards permanent +1 to finesse abilities
Scholia Arcana chain - Awards permanent +1 to sorcery abilities
Pets - In the DLC Keep, different pets give different passive bonuses, can be fed up to 2 times to increase this bonus. Maximum of 3 can be kept at a time, however a conversation bug lets you have all 8. When he asks you which one you would like to release because you have too many, pick the conversation option on the left side. After he finishes talking, you can choose which pet you would like to add

Lorestones give passive bonuses when a full set is completed. I recommend getting detect hidden to 10 as it allows you to see all of them on your map. The lorestone guide link posted earlier helps you find them + those hidden in dungeons

awesome. do you need the DLC in order to craft those gears? my blacksmithing is master, but I can't craft with higher options.

it doesnt even matter :p as it turns out % magic boost and % elements are obsolete as they only affect spells while % damaging and % vs lightly wounded affects ALL damage (even base wep) so the build i use can be put in finesse or might armors and does the same

one main thing most people dont know is the boost from both weapons stacks even though u can only use one at a time, so make sure the one u dont use has high boosts for the other

if u max blacksmithing ull find master components (flawless are better but way harder to get in the normal lands). the dlc the legend of dead kel helps u tons (like seriously) coz of the diplomacy thing that just keeps bringing u the best components in packs of 9-12 at a time and u get to build stuff from that

better components r easier to find when ur higher level but i think the diplomacy one isnt level adjusted so u should get the best ones regardless

I see. so then I just to focus on sagecrafting since I'm still in advance lvl. Do you salvage that often or just collecting?

for gems just collect them or buy them in towns and turn them to prismere quality on sagecraft altars. u only need enough to make prismere so u dont need the max level for it. the max lvl lets u remove socketed gems which crafted armors dont have anyway

I decided to quit blacksmithing characters because it totally demolishes the game in every possible way, it's far too overpowered and makes the game plain boring. It also takes out the excitement of finding new equipment.

its true :p then again i beat the game with 3 yellow set armors and my forged top with nothing major on it coz i did the DLC after beating the game. im doing this just for fun coz i beat the main game, both dlcs and like 146 total quests so i wanted to see the extreme possibilities :p

theres no real level scaling so once ur 40 it doesnt really matter what u wear, ull just kill everything anyway

Is it really that overpowered? I'm actually struggling with my blacksmithing just to get the proper gears for me, 'cause I got tired roaming around the map looking for some good items piece bye piece :pinched:

Yea, once you get to rathir you can buy some average crafting materials, (+60 hp, +20% damage during day, that kind of crap) combined with sagecrafting gems you can already make incredibly strong gear without even having real good materials. It's gamebreaking in every possible way ~.~
