The best think would be to go to the local PC hardware store, ask for the brochure with the latest hardware. Then consult an expert in the same store for gaming PCs, look for the given options and then buy all the parts from the official sites in order to avoid that 12% tax.

After than, spend good 2~3 hours to construct the PC, run the drivers, etc.

At the end, enjoy the master piece that you've created.

On the other hand, if you ANY idea about PCs, then it wouldn't be so hard for you to search on the main sites of some popular IT-hardware companies for the stuff that you need and like. I won't name the companies due to advertising reasons.

dont really trust the "experts" in those stores, in most countries they strongly recommend some overpriced junk they have in stock to make more profit. if he says he has $3,000 to throw away u know how that will end xD

anyways lol he asked for specific hardware so u have to mention the company anyway. the forum advertising rules only count when u advertise other private servers, not when u discuss hardware

id start with the processor as that is the key component. based on that, ull have to pick a motherboard with a socket that fits it. then comes the usual fight of radeon vs geforce graphics cards :p ull most likely wanna get 2 of them in sli/crossfire. ram is the easy part, for harddrives ull most likely wanna get a SSD for ur operating system (the capacity isnt that important, its to make sure ur system runs fast) with a 10,000rps high capacity HDD for storage. if u have cash left u can get 2 SSDs in raid 0, that would make them even faster

u should probably mention what u mostly use it for, if its gaming or video editing, if its just mmos or high res single player games, if u plan to use multiple screens and all that crap, would help with picking parts u need

hey thats actually really good :p although theres one thing i would change

u picked a 2x SSD in raid 0 as i was thinking about, however 240gb is really not enough for anybody these days. u should add the 2nd harddrive option as a 1tb, preferably 2tb harddrive, the 7200rpm should be enough

yeah i picked 2 SSD's cause these HDrives when they start to get full they lose some performance but Adding 2TB For Junk Files is a smart idea and remember Keep the SSD's For your OS and Gaming only.

its good for movies, installers and other stuff, old games that arent too demanding or too big and such, storage in general. and yea when they get full its a pain to defrag them coz theres not much manipulation space for that, SSDs never get fragmented, thats why they r good as system drives

Dude, if you know something about the market, then you would know that any seller tries to get rid of whatever they have left in stock. That's WHY you check the price-list, you get opinions from different stores and decide based on your:
    - Budget
    - Needs
    - Demands
    - Expectations
    - Gaming level

Seriously, one is not simply so stupid to rely only on one opinion on the net or of one store. Market research is the key when you are about to buy new PC.

But, my question is: What do you need the Nasa computer is you don't know how to use he half of its capabilities? I've seen alot of kids who buy super PCs just for gaming, which is pretty sad if this is the only thing they know to do with it :p - generally speaking.

For example, I got Core 2 duo crap-box comp at work. I made it run x2 than normal with a bit of fix, but it won't last long since it's one heck of a useless Dell joke - but I don't care since I don't own it xD

well he did ask if the site is reliable so hes not exactly planning to do much research. he also hasnt answered what he plans to primarily use it for so hes not that interested in saving money and paying only for the performance he needs either. my guess is he doesnt wanna spend the time researching since a lot of the stuff gets technical anyway and just wants a machine that will handle anything and will last a long time (which is what the other guy suggested)

Well, excuse me but if you don't know how to update the drivers, how to clear up your memory/HDD, how to format your PC every 6 months and generally how to take a good care of the machine that you use then it's a GG and it will never last long enough. PCs are not for watching pron only, so let's learn how to use it and maintenance it properly.
