[ GFX ] Graphics/Art Critique and Classing.

Been pumping these out for no reason at all. Here's the last one for tonight:

nothing special i m just use one render +my idea, and some soft brush for dot's , and a lot colors + shape's or blur's :3

Just a banner i created for our Guild Wars 2 guild at Aetherius Network.

Used primarily a lot of the official GW2 wallpapers and from there it was a lot of editing/drawing in Paint Tool Sai.

Ended with some filtering in PS Cs5.

This is a book cover that I made for my English class booklet project. :O

That's pretty cool! But you should go with a different style of text in my opinion. The slanty look gives a goofy feeling, but the design itself tells me it's a mystery novel. Maybe change the little picture to something that's important in the book(I'd even consider removing), unless it's has something to do with a house and tree. I'd add some blue on the text (Not all of it, just a letter or two)

Then work on lighting. It's way too strong around the hands if you're going to keep the edges so dark.

Make it so your name blends in, not stands out. You want it to be visible, but not something that's noticed a lot. Maybe use a dark gray color with Arial or something placed bottom mid.

This manip is way too simple and make me hard to give any comments on, anyway one thing that, if you can add highlights for ur render to suit ur lightflow that would be better and looks sensible.

@Zetz: hey that's sponge tool is rly good for helping me avoid going over-colors. Thks. ;p

 

The glow thingies (light sources?) are blocking the the actual sig. Make it translucent and make them kind of "blend".
The face seems to be interrupted by it as well, make it the focal.
The text for Luscious is really off, both the font and colour ><

Really good work though, coming from someone who's a big fan of light textures and stuff c:
Zetz really is amazing.

 

If you'll do some colorful work, I'd suggest you define the lines of your image/render/stock as placing colors would take over the image.
Do some sharpens and blurs often when you do "apply image". You should also emphasize the lighting with the Burn and Dodge tool.
Another way of defining the lines is using Gradient Map from Layers > Adjustment Layers then 100% Luminosity with black and white foreground/background colors.

Also, if you are going to place color soft light brushes, make sure they are in Lighten or Linear Dodge with 50% opacity.
I go for 50% opacity on those brushes because it would not make the brushes "overcome" your design.

Also, during finishing touches, Sponge tool helps a lot to saturate the important colors that you want to define.

I also remove the colors that I put on the sig from the face as I want to keep it natural and always use it as my focal point.
The only thing I do with the face is using Sponge tool to enhance the skin color to match the vibrancy of the colors all around.

Text, kinda out of idea for it... I intended to make it textless at first, but then...

Haven't tried this thing..;o, all of the others I've tried many times.
Btw it's one important thing that's color scheme feelings of mine isn't that good...=). That's why I rarely make colorful sig, just 1-2 colors blending most of the times...;o

This piece rly didn't make me satisfied any at all, will fix it or even remake it.

Loving the text on the second one. Goes very well with the mood, and it blends in so well. Great job.
Although I feel like there is too much blue on the bottom. Did you use a soft brush down there?

But are you sure it isn't "Too" instead of "To". Too means like overwhelmingly, or overly addicted. To-- well, I'm not sure that makes sense. =o
