So I recently started using using photoshop made this signature yesterday just want some CC on it so I can improve :3

 

How excellent you've done with depths, rly love it.
Would be perfect if you can add 1 more "lighting effects" layer and focus the fire, make it flow from top left to bottom right, and work a bit more on text, seems out of nowhere...<3. The best place for text imo is under the right arm.

Thank you :3 I took what you told me and tried applying it to the sig and came out like this,



tried adding more lighting effects on to the sword but I don't know didn't really like the way it looked so just left it the way it was.

 

with objects like sword, lighting effects doesn't work well, it only good to create the light flow of the whole sig, and enhance the depths.
To make the sword brighter, soft brush is used most of the time (details about how to use it you can find in Zetz's cc in previous page, I'm also following that) because it's the most simply way, or you can use some lighting c4d, along with gradient map/color balance/selective color...for color editing...

It's nice, but I feel like it lacks depth. I'm not a big fan of the long text, or it's placement. ;[
The color scheme you have going is nice, but you could expand it more.

couldn't decide on placement or color of the text so ended up making two versions of it x.x

 

Depth, lighting and text...you maybe want to enhance them more... Specially the text, I know you aren't fan of big text but at least make it clearly... >.>

uhmm, it looks like you just smudged the render randomly. I'm not a fan of smudging sig anyway so..yea, nuff said... Btw it lacks flow imo. Since you liked smudging, you can try make a new layer, draw some rectangles and smudge it to make light flow, with liquify (ctrl-shift-X) or filter->distort->polar coordinate (or any distort filters you like) if you want to make the flow suits ur render. Lately there's a guy here usually uses that style, you can take a look at Carl's and Puddles's sig contests, Aquiles's entries. Also a new layer with soft brush 50% opacity around the sig is good for depth enhancement, or you can try burn tool.

 

Hehe thats kind of a wall behind her, so I can't focus much on making any depth. Yeah, I kept it low key on the light this time might be able to change that. Ah, no way I'd make the text larger. D: I like that it's just enough to be readable.

I like the black text better.

The smudging on the render doesn't make it blend too well. Remember to sharpen up your renders. It really brings them out more.

When using C4D's try and create some direction with them. Form flow with them.

I'd have gone with smaller, closer text, but that's just my personal preference loll. Maybe even no text would look good.

Alright thanks DC I'll try all this out later and see if I can make the C4Ds flow better I'll mess around with the text some more and work on the smudging.
