I think it shouldn't be implemented in any of Aion servers. NCsoft is killing PvP by adding shit like mounts, houses and neutral zones. WTF is that? The Sims or Aion? First I thouth that only Sarpan will be neutral zone but they implemented those "beautiful" houses near every bigger camp. Also Tiamaranta have PvP zones only near forts and artifacts, but who cares about them here. This location will die faster than Abyss.

In a gamez setting i think it's not supposed to be implemented. It's really is killing pvp imo

i supposed you also don't need to look cool, since this is a PVP game right? so skins should be removed as well, i mean who cares about em everyone just wants to kill the opposing race right?/! let's remove the pets too since they don't really fight or anything. better yet lets just remove everything except all those PVP stuff/areas. i mean what's the point if we only wan't pvp right?/!

By the way, what's the point of adding neutral zones when races can't even talk to eachother ?

They still disabled that with some kind of censor hahaha.

so much win in your post lol (and sarcasm as well :3).

Well, the new maps have been built around the neutral zone factor. This means, both factions share the same towns, some NPC's, flight transports, and wind streams. Since the maps weren't build to not have neutral zones, I don't think that even if Gamez wanted to remove neutral zones from Tiamaranta or Sarpan, it would would out correctly.

Basically there's not much to be done about the new implementations that wouldn't mess with the game itself. And we can't just remove some of the non-PvP options from the game since other players enjoy doing things other than PvP. Maybe Gamez is a PvP server, but it also attracts people that are simply looking for the high rates on a complete server. If it was a full out PvP server, we would be looking like other not-so-nice servers that got like 3 maps available and only for PvP.

Just my thoughts on the matter though. Cheers.

I'm assuming nobody here paid any attention to the storyline or campaign quests.

Well dunno if it's the same for Siel, but Lumiel's PvP is at 99.69% Concentrated in the following areas :

What would be the point in "deneutralizing" new maps then?

Simple storyline -> people once lived on a planet called Atreia with a god called Aion. Aion sent some dudes to watch over them called something (I don't rem), but they got all corrupt and stuff and wanted to take over so they named themselves Balaur. War raged on forever (1000 years or smthn) between the balaur and the habitants until they wanted to call a treaty. They went to the Tower of Eternity which is the location of the Aether, or the power Aion bestowed upon Atreia which the balaur were trying to get to. The forceshield that was surrounding the tower was brought down to let the balaur envoy in, and the envoy got assassinated by an unknown assailant. The balaur flipped out and attacked the tower which destroyed it and was pushing the planet apart (it's kinda like a mushroom with a head on each side, the tower being the stem). 2 of the 13 empyrean lords (the ones Aion bestowed with access to the Aether) sacrificed their lives to keep the worlds together, and was then called the cataclysm. 5 of the lords went with half of the humans to live on the top half which wasn't exposed to the sun, and became the asmodians with the tails and stuff. The other 7 lords went to the bottom half which was exposed in sunlight and they got the prettiness which became the elyos. After hundreds of years past, they couldn't remember who caused the treaty, collapse, or pretty much the cataclysm in general, and blamed the opposite lords who they thought long ago died. Suddenly these random rifts popped up on each half (Asmodae and Elysia), they each went to go exploring and well they just got into a fight. They blamed each other, forgetting that their true enemy was the balaur. As time progresses through the story, the elyos and the asmos will eventually reunite (from what I'm thinking anyway) and turn to fight the balaur in one final battle. If you think of it anyway, it's what they seem to be pushing towards. In the first version, we are at war with eachother. 2.0 comes out, and we assault balaurea adding the balaur into the enemy equation. We now don't have to do rifts, but can just stroll through silentera to get to the other races map. Now with 3.0, we have a small uneasy truce as we go deeper into balaurea to find the heart of them, yet we still war in most of the zones.

That's pretty much the summary of the history of the game, I might have gotten a couple things wrong but it's rather general. The neutral zones are there to perpetuate the storyline, which is one of the few things that you see now adays in popular MMOs. I do agree that the housing zones in Heiron and Belusulan are stupid and need to be removed, or at least capable of pvp restrictions instead of being able to just hop in and be safe, but I can completely understand the neutral zones in both Tiamantara and Sarpan.

I disagree with you guys. It's exactly the opposite way in my opinion. In a PvP Server like this where you have got nothing to do but PvP, houses/neutral zones/etc. are one more thing for you to be entertained with. And let's not be selfish, Aion is too male-ish already, some girly stuff wouldn't harm =P

Our only issue is the aoe bug atm lol.

well IDK if you guys know this but, NSsoft added the houses and stuff because lots of people were asking for it.. they are aware of the forums you know.so they listed the popular/most demanded stuffs that people are talking about both in-game and forums. so they added them. it's not actually a part of the story line.
Well actually i got that info by watching a vid where NCsoft's staffs/heads are Interviewed about how they come up with the 3.0's new features.. I'm not too sure though.
And those neutral zones in Belu/Heiro, yeah its pretty much a running zone for cowards avoiding AP loss, i mean PVP'rs, but then, who would want to camp and be camped in those areas anyway?

They were called Drakan at first, and they tapped into an energy beyond Aion's Reach. they demanded to be like Aion and He didn't agree, so they went for everything the hard way. Humans were the only ones who stood up from all the creatures, and he created 2 Daevas directly from aether. If I remember correctly, the rest of the lords ascended from humans. There are 12 Empyrean lords, out of which 2 died in the cataclysm (the original ones), 5 became the Shedim Lords, and the other 5 became the Seraphim lords. After a thousand years, rifts started opening up and closing, and after a few years, some of them stabilized until it was safe to use them. They lead to the abyss, which is basically remnants of the tower itself. This was were the Balaur had been locked up, and with these rifts opening up, they were once again free. As this was happening, the Asmodians and Elyos also met for the first time in years, and things did not exactly go well. As the balaurs started preparing to conquer Atreia in silence, the asmodians and elyos were too busy fighting each others.

Then, both sides decided to give more importance to the Balaur and headed to Balaurea, in the outskirts of Atreia. Upon getting there, they found out both races had gone there and once again, the fighting began. While all this happened, the oldest Daevas, the reians, who had been living in Balaurea for a while, were met by Kahrun. Kahrun showed them how to use Drana against the balaurs, and the Reians started fighting the balaurs by themselves. In 3.0, the battleships used by the Elyos and Asmodians get ready and they attack the bulwarks of Angrief. They were moving towards Tiamat's land. Tiamat, upon seeing this, encounters the Elyos and Asmos herself, killing most. The Reians intervened just in time to save the battleships and some daevas, taking them to Sarpan. In Sarpan, Kahrun made it Law that Elyos and Asmos were not to fight and were to keep the Balaurs as their main enemies. The disputed lands in Tiamaranta are simply places were Kahrun's will simply could not take place.

With that said, might as well throw some spoilers out there. Lord Lephar, leader of the Lepharist revolution that has been spread accross atreia, who also claims to be the 13th Empyrean Lord and claims that all other Lords are corrupt and evil, is also Lord Israphel's Reincarnation (Israphel and Lady Siel are the original Empyrean lords, and the ones who sacrificed to save Atreia). Also, Lady Siel makes a comeback from the dead.

Also, the storyline for Aion: Ascension is also interesting, with Balaur Lord Ereshkigal handing Lady Tiamat a weapon made of pure energy from the tower, which grants her the power to ascend any Balaur she wants, turning them into immortals apparently. To this, Lord Marchutan pleads Aion for help, to which Aion replies by Ascending Hordes of Daevas in amounts not seen since the cataclysm (the game is going free, expect tons of nubs to start playing obviously >.>).

If campaign quests for 56-60 are implemented soon, we'll be demanding that NCSoft keeps the storyline going until the end :3

Oh, sorry for hijacking the thread... I have my moments o.o
