RvR events = run scrolls maybe if you're lucky enchant stones

Tournaments = inquin candy and enchant stones

Do you think the type of player to win a 1v1 tournament event is also going to benefit at all from having another 30-40 boring inquin candies... and enchant stones?

After seeing what the players on crystal were rewarded with for different types of events I am wondering what we've done to deserve such terrible rewards. They got anything from 'pick any gold item in the game' to deity candies, shugo candies, magical rings, unique skins and sets, hats and other things which I didn't even know existed.

What is the reason for this?

    and more importantly...

    How can we change it?

When you get, what 400? Just for making a character and doing a few quests....

so, your complaining about the prizes that were mainly given for special events? also on a server that was mid rate and had a much seder time acquiring some items that are in the game.

Crystal had a different economy, compared to games. people would actually play with and use gear items outside of the perfect abg etc.

sure can we do special events? sure, but don't expect them everyday or week, or heck even one a month.

yo also need to consider the different player base numbers.

do I personally want to give out other things as prizes? sure, but we also have to think economy here.

Well I think scrolls and enchants are indeed laughable prizes but the events are usually not that hard to do like a tourney or a kill the GM event or sometimes guessing games and scrambled words.

Probably if it was like a 2v1 tourney or fastest killing time which I think is a bit harder to accomplish then a good prize (rare armors, candies etc) is appropriate.

Not a bad idea, not at all. <3 this idea. :w00t: but keeping time would be a bit annoying, it'd need to be tweeked a bit, as for rare armors idk about that but candies that's a for sure.

A bit late to be complaining now, don't you think? We tried to suggesting players to come to Crystal in numerous number of threads on forums before. However all we got back was arrogant downplaying of Crystal, with many going "come to Gamez instead". In retrospect, it's not like Crystal players got any advantage since our server cease to exist. Additionally it is not Gamez players are disadvantaged either, for it was their choice to be ignorant.

Oh please, about WHICH economy do you have to think about? The in-game or the Carl's one? The drops of good looking sets are wiped, the drop rates of the manastones are nerfed, the quests that give decent sets are not working, the Core is no more the place to farm elders. We know why all this happens. The question is for how long are you going to deny the obvious?

So you just decide to grab random threads and turn them into Hatred-Towards-Admin threads, when they have nothing to do with that? There was a difference between Crystal and Gamez: Crystal was on the verge of death while Gamez just has very demanding players. You should've tried playing Crystal, I'm sure you would've quit long time ago. You don't see Crystal players complaining like Gamez people do, hell.. their characters are stuck/missing through servers because of the transfer and you see 2 or 3 threads about this, they actually take too much. You guys get ragnarok spawned in front of a fort and you complain all over forums.

Crystal had such events because 1, Ash was Head GM and was extremely dedicated to Crystal, she loved Crystal, and 2, because it was almost dead. You don't give the few players that actually played something to stay around for, you got a dead server. Gamez is far from having dead servers, there are quite a few permanent bans as of the new ban system, and you still see a lot of people around. Sure we can change the prizes every now and then but you can't expect epic prizes on every event... the point of events in my opinion is to actually have fun. Players should be suggesting different types of events instead, see which one actually gets approved. The lottery one for example, I love the idea and hope it gets implemented somehow, and I personally have tons of ideas regarding new dungeons from 3.0 which I just need some time to put into making a proper suggestion and they could get approved.

Maybe we can get different prizes for events, who knows. I'll actually go through aiondb and aionarmory these days checking out items we could consider for prizes.

Regarding what you have to say, your post is of no use or gain to this topic and it kind of sickens me that people are always just pointing fingers. In fact, almost everything you do around here is complain instead of doing constructive criticism or suggestions. I am a player just like you, facing the same problems you are with the server, and the difference between you and me is that I decided to support this server, while you're happy with complaining about it. If you really cared about the server, you would at least try not to complain every opportunity you get to. If you really hate the server and administration this much, I suggest you simply leave since there is no point for someone to stay around something he hates.

In the end, when people start giving "rare items" as you call them, they will not be rare anymore.

On retail, lets say for Marra's party dress, 10m kinah isn't easy task to get and it is rare. If every player on gamez has 10m in his pocket, it isn't rare and players hate remodeling it even if it looks cool because it isn't "rare".

I think you should enjoy events, and see the prizes only as a little thanks because you joined it. You have events that are giving great prizes, Bryne hosted a tournament and the winner had to choose any weapon that he wanted. Too bad you weren't on it, but she hosts it every month or so and that way she can give such a great prize. If you don't enjoy events and go just for prize, you really shouldn't participate it in my opinion.

What could POSSIBLY get worse on the economy here after releasing the EAC and ACD for a while ??
And just if carl isn't making money enough do you realy thing he would be bothered with a 6 slot masta prize ??
When AM's are shouting for events i don't even bother joining.
They give like 20 candys or some enchant stones were you need to put alot of effort in or you just buy them in broker for 100-200m.

And those special events with abg prizes or some special remodel set are like what once in a year -.-" ?

2 years long complaining about item drops / rewards has never done anything, I don't think it ever will. Although I must say I'm slightly dissapointed that nothing has changed at all in the rather lengthy time that I haven't played here.

I don't turn this thread into a harted-towards the Admins. I refer to only one Admin who earns from the so called 'rare' items that are removed. Those same items you call them 'rare' or 'special' because Gamez has nothing special left to offer to the community that turned the economy into cash hungry machine.

It seems pretty unfair when you say that the small population gets better treatment than the big one. Just because there are more people on Gamez servers, it doesn't mean that they should get worse prizes for the events and yes, it's too bad that Gamez has none so dedicated from the staff to actually give everything for its community like Ashtar did.

I started on Crystal and I played for the first 3 months there, things were smooth and cool back them but after a while I decided to spend my time on PvP, over the world exploration and quests/leveling/grinding, hence I joined Gamez. Heck, I remember the events in v1.5 when 100 running scrolls were more that gold back them or a few medals would be the ultimate goal for many players in the events.

Also, I remember when events meant kinah prizes only and it was enough because not everyone had trillions in their pockets back then and the economy was fk'ed up at all. We were happy back then. Now, you put the sets that you should normally get from quests into the 'rare' category and expect us to be happy when half of the quests are broken and half of the features are missing and/or just removed on purpose.

The Bosses used to drop more often rare sets. Now the old rare is today's unseen, with the current drop rates that are nearly as same as on the retail. Afaik Gamez is still a High rates server, not a Mid rates server or am I deeply mistaken to believe so?

Let me put another subject to this thread, before there used to be a guide w the spots where mobs where dropping (high drop rate) certain manastones. After a few changes the manastones rate is nerfed, the spots are useless because the drop rate is so random that you have to farm all day long just for a few of them, which leads the people who want the job to be done fast to the donation.

Oh yes, I would enjoy the PvP in a different map than the ones I already have the chance to PvP on? No. The reason why players join the events is for the prizes and the reason why there are events is to keep people interested in this server and to cover the problematic features that don't work and/or are bugged for good.

Now, if you want people to join just because of the nature of the event, then you should think of new style of events that would have an interesting meaning. So far, the only interesting I've seen are the forum events. The in-game ones are same old, different name.

You do realise that the full geared people actually don't mind scrolls since it saves them the trouble of crafting / creating new characters. Sure they enjoy tearing down the full elder / blue geared people in events since it makes them feel so good.

It's the undergeared / new playerbase you should humor with events. Why would you host events just to feed the already overgeared playerbase with scrolls time over time over time? I can only imagine how the undergeared population must feel in certain events. Duel event? Oh I just got 2 hitted by a fully geared player. Word unscrambler? Oh I gained 5 brilliant aethers / 100 scrolls by guessing a word right, this will help me so much since good items dont drop and everyone in the game 2 shots me.

You think it's bad that level 22's want to join an event? Laughable. They are thrilled to join events because they think it could actually influence their chances in the game. Events are partly about the excitement it brings concerning possible rewards and the fun that comes with it. I remember my first time on a rose-online private server, I somehow randomly stumbled upon a gm hosting a hide-and-seek event in my first 10 minutes of gameplay by sheer chance. He gave me a full set of top tier armor. I have stayed there for quite a bit after that and I even donated 10 bucks without getting anything in return just because I supported the way they did things.

Recently in League of Legends I was selected to play in the Runterra event which means that the game I played was shoutcasted and at the end I got 1000 Riot Points. Did I decide to sign up for the event because it had a nice price with it? Yes I must say it was a very appealing reward. Did I enjoy the game? Oh hell yes I enjoyed it very much eventhough my team ended up losing.

By staying on gamez for long people actually end up getting a really twisted way of thinking. I can't properly explain it but I can only say i'm hella glad that I quit.

Not sure why you are blaming us for the economy in game being horrid. That is set by the players themselves like you (not saying you over price here). In game prices are set by the players, it's supply and demand. If people will trade for something at an exorbitant price that is their fault, however. That isn't the question in this thread and your trying to derail it to a subject it wasn't meant to be.

Okay, so what? We start giving out ABG every single day for everything, cool story. And what about people who donated for that ABG before? A tad jaded right? Everyone who had donated for things in the past was happy with that for the most part I assume. I know I am and do not actually mind the fact the prices dropped due to new and better gear being released. Even if it is 500 credits HIGHER than what the set I bought was before hand. Oh my, no not something better for a slightly higher cost.

As for the event rewards, like I said. We cannot FLOOD the current economy of the game with high priced items, seriously now. How many sets of ABG were being traded for WoC L2? How many people are trading a ridiculous amount of ABG for this that the other thing? Or other rare items.

Sure, there is in some way a right to say Crystal had better rewards. That was due to the fact there was a lower player base and those rewards were mainly custom to crystal and as I said, special events. There weren't handed out like candy canes at Christmas time. Also, as I said Crystals economy was different than Gamez.

Yes, by all right players have a right to complain about the event prizes and maybe we can get it to be changed. I know I have brought the subject up a few times myself however, finding suitable prizes that aren't going to tilt anything is rather a difficult task. Not like were going to be giving out this item or that item, those are for special events as I said.

Do we do a ton of special events on Gamez? No. I cannot remember doing or having participated in anything that was on the scale of Crystal and Ashtars special events. Then again, that also would come down to the player base size. Seeing how if we were to do something like that, the amount of prizes would be tremendous compared. Would it be feasible? Perhaps. Something we would like to try? Yes, but functionally it may not be possible to do just simply due to the amount of people who participate.

Yea, I can understand where your all coming from saying the prizes aren't the best. Though, your also forgetting that. When we do an event of any size it

First, Takes us away from the line of questions and reports.
Two, Makes it impossible for us to really do much else other than that so, if we do get reports etc, there needs to be someone else online to handle those.
Three, Time to mail the prizes in the first place in which are being complained about.

Now, for whatever reason people seem to think that running events is simple, and that sending prizes out happens to be the same. It really isn't as easy as it sounds.

Well, 20 candies is better than no candies at all, along with the 100-200m cost of them which some players simply don't have to spend on candy itself. Putting a lot of effort into an event? Really, sure some events take more time than others (tournaments for example) though, the fact that winners names get announced to the faction side. There is a decent prize. Enchant stones are useful, Candy is useful.

Your first sentiments were, aimed at that in how they read.

As for, the smaller of the populations getting better treatment. It, was dramatically easier for Ashtar to manage those types of things than with Gamez. Crystal had, such a rarity of people abusing bugs, glitches, hacking, duping than Gamez did. It is one of the reasons that well, we simply are finky on doing nice things as people tend to abuse them along with a fore mentioned.

How many people abuse Crucible right now? For the Level 1 conditioning items that can be gotten from insignia? I would imagine the same can be said for other things too.

So, Gamez Staff isn't dedicated because we don't give out special items? We do, it is just rare. Actually it was rare on Crystal from what I've seen. I mean, the mass Solaris / Easter etc events that were done. Think about it for Gamez for a minute would you? How many people, would enter how long would it take us to actually sort out? It isn't so much an issue of dedication as it is physical time to be allot to the task of the event itself.

Along side mailing things as I already have said above. Ashtar, mailed everything for those events basically herself. Hours, upon Hours, of just mailing things. Do you know how tedious it is to mail that many things? When I mail for the AMT for example, JUST on siel alone. I have to set aside 1 - 2 hours to do so. And that is with Mass additions of prizes to my inventory so I don't have to stop and add more all the time. Those special events and prizes can be mailed by Bryne / Alente. The amount of time that it takes to mail goes up with the type of prize being mailed. So en-mass single item, or item set becomes well, say for the amount of players that would join, days maybe?

Come on now. Like I said, it isn't something we don't want to do. The other constraints along with the possible economic impact in game (given the fact people ask dumb high prices for everything.) Would lead to just more complaining about things.

If you think about it from a perspective of I have some really cool item. Oh its super rare, lets ask 10k credits for it! Oh someone is offering me 10k but this other guy is offering me 15k. Hmm okay. So now it's a 15k credit item to someone, meaning the price gets skewed and people complain about prices more.

    -

Not sure about your manastone issue, as I haven't found it difficult to farm them on my legits when I go out and actually look for them. I can gain about 20+ in under an hour depending on what class I play and such what not.

    -

To the last bit here. Yes, there are features not working at the moment. Events are made to one, make AM's more visible to the community. Two, allow players to interact with an AM instead of just whispering back and forth. Three, give players something to do other than just run around and slaughter eachother. Your features not working, what housing? As it was stated a while back, it is a massive project and being worked on.

The instances? Those would be lovely to have working, but I would think people want housing more so right?

Along those lines, we do events to break up the monotony of PvP and the everyday thing, to give players something to do other than just well slaughter eachother even though our events kinda emphisise slaughtering eachother. Just in a little instance with less people.

You know, saying that on a server that is full of bugs - ever since Chlora left, Gamez got locked out of the most communities that are working on the Aion's core for the Pservers - that it's players' fault for abusing them is kinda funny.

You give a candy to a kid and you tell him to resist and not to eat it. You that same kid that there is another candy but he has to do his h/w in order to get the other candy. Which one do you think that the kid will choose?

The existing bugs are not our fault and when they exist for a very loooooooong time, then they need to fixed instead of being used as a reason for punishment because of their abuse. When you say that you don't want to do nice things because players abuse them, well, it's because you do them either too often, when the new hired GMs try to impress or too rarely, when the GMs get tired, bored or whatever.

There were many suggestions on events, along with mine that was suggesting to have daily, weekly and monthly events - all of them organized and done at certain time, covering both timezones, West and East. Gamez prefers to do random events and throw fireworks in our eyes by doing few massive (worth because of the prize or the idea) events.

If problem is the amount of people, you know the answer to it. If problem is the time that it takes to make an event, make it more organized, set a schedule that players will be aware of.

I would show you my box of the fks that I give about the housing system but it happens that I'm at work and I don't have the picture on this HDD. I care about features that make the game and the PvP fun, not the Sims in Aion.

The instances, the drops, the Core drops, the Boss drops, the QUESTS rewards. Things that are either bugged OR broken on purpose. These are the things I care about, not the Housing project, which is for kids who like to play barbie or Sims.

Edit: Thanks for taking the time to post a solid reply. I appreciate it. =)

To address this. Honestly? If it seems to good to be true, then it is. Bug abuse frankly; it happens in any game and people get punished for it there as well.

Yes, there are some bugs which should be fixed faster though, really. Personally? I somewhat prefer having a stable update that doesn't blow up entire sections of maps like one did a while ago (it had some REALLY weird issues funny, but not okay ones)

As for the AMT trying to impress players? Maybe they are, Maybe not. I see most of the AMT doing things because they want people to enjoy the server and get to know them better. Trying to break up the day with running events and such for them to join in and do something slightly different than the same thing.

Of course, suggestions. I love reading them, but you guys don't think the entire thing though. You think one side of it and that is that event is a success. When even AMs AMT suggest an event to be done, it has to be given consideration to the fairness of the event to the players, feasibility in actually running it, fitting prizes to the type of event and style of the event.

It's easy to come up with an idea, I have had tons thrown my way in the past by other AM / AMT (Yunashadow being one at the time) He had wonderful ideas. Brilliant ones, however. The concepts were good, the ability to run the events on the other hand either took to much time away from our main goals and aspects of what we do (answer questions / chase down cheaters). Or there were issues with the event being fair for all parties involved. The same is still true, to all the other suggestions.

When you have to look with an eye of no bias on things and it is hard to do sometimes because I would love to go and do some crazy events for you guys. I'm sure everyone would love to do them, taking into account everything else that goes with it.

(Also, I am neglecting the first portion of the post as it doesn't quite pertain to the topic. We know bugs are annoying and that they aren't the players faults. However abuse of those bugs for a personal advantage is when they hamper the play and enjoyment of others. Hence why they are punished.)

A schedule would be a wonderful thing. However, you have to also take into account that we are here when we can be. It is not a paid position where we are required to be online for X hours, X days etc. The time we put in here, is voluntary. Scheduling events, yes it is a lovely thought in concept. However, the down side to that is, if the AM who is supposed to run that specific event has something come up and no one else at the time is available to do it for them?

You can see where the issues would arise with that, as it was something I had discussed in the past. The downsides outweigh the benefits on that discussion. People would be more upset having a scheduled event being missed than, missing one of the random ones though out the day, don't you agree?

Plus, you couldn't quite blame the AMs for having outside life issues come up and or other more serious obligations as I said this isn't a paid position.

Thats fine. You may not care about it. Others might not, but there are tons of people who DO CARE about it and do want it to work right. And for them? Yes, I would say the instances can wait for a little while.

The housing feature was one of the main points of 3.0. It was more so than the new instances, and or quests that came with it. Previous quests aside, which some are broken still. Some work, just the per-requisites haven't been met for them to actually work.

While, I would love to see people doing more instances than just besh, people are forgetting about Lut / Ut. Yea sure SW is a decent set, so aren't the others ones. No, if you wish to say they aren't top tier and such. That is correct but, they are a decent enough start to get the basics which can make you that first set of ABG given time.

Now, I know you say given time right? This is a high rate server. No one ever said high rate meant easy, it actually means it is normally harder to be a new player.

In the past, I have done events for lower level characters, do you know how many players actually join those events? Barely any at all. I think I had a total of 9 who joined for a low level event where I was giving away a level 30 Daevaion Set to help them along. Was it the top of the line armor? No, did they like it yes.

Was there any actual interest in that? Not enough to bother continuing considering it is a high rate server and people can 1 - 60 in what 2 - 4 hours?

Now, if there were actual Twink play here? I could see doing some different, lower leveled, giving out gear and such events for those players. I'm sure there wouldn't be many arguments against it at all. However, there is not. Have I said these things in the past? Yes. Were my thoughts on subjects heard, of course by players yes. Did things change? Nope.

A solid reply? When someone takes the time to form a logical discussion about something, and not just pander angst and grievances and point fingers at this that the other thing. I am sure any one of us would take the time to discuss the subject matter in a rational, method and explain things. It just takes rational, clam and thought out conversation. Most likely why this thread is still open and being used as a discussion place.

I just generally dont bother joining simple events because it takes ages to get picked and then ages to get ported and then ages to actually start the event. Even if im lucky enough to actually get picked FIRST i ll still waste another 30 minutes waiting for the AM to port me or to start the event,i think they afk in the middle of their duty lol, well definitely not all the AMs but some do and they know who they are. Another annoying thing is that the AM does group vs group and he says OK YOUR GROUP IS NEXT and then after 4 more rounds we are still waiting for our turn, lol. Nevermind those events and their prizes,i have built my own item empire and i never even joined any of those events, what will i do with 20 enchantment stones? i can kill bakarma and get more than that all i want and whenever i want, just saying. Oh and im in siel btw,and the prizes are same here

Dont you think there are more important issues? Like for instance fix at least 1 of the several new instances? We are in 3.0 and we still run udas temple, now how lame is that,no you tell me.

Like it was stated, some events take longer than others. Would it be super nice and fun to port every single participant for a Group vs Group? Yep it would be! Though, sadly people like to not listen to what is being said and go off and start doing their own things outside of what the AM is requesting.

You saying things about, not joining events that is your choice. Building an item empire? Thats lovely. but frankly; what does it matter other than saying you have built an empire and get what you want?

Yes, I agree having one of the instances working would be nice, though I am sure you can see that we have a Tera server opening. So, I assume that some dev time was given to that too. Truly I can't say that for certain as I have no real contact with devs or what they are doing in the slightest foggiest idea.

Everything, you say is about you. Why not; keep it on the more broad spectrum topic of how to actually resolve the issue with event prizes?

The instances, would be nice I agree. One would be cool to play in, but I am willing to wait for that as well. Given I have patience of a saint.
