Anyone want to try Rift?

I was playing on Henge of Denravi in the betas but my guild decided on going to Ehmry Bay so that's where I'm going.

 

I'm supposed to convert you into joining me and Selik's guild but unfortunately Selik hasn't planned ahead at all so I can't give you any information on yet unformed guild. It's all Selik's fault.

 

That's BS and you know it. I've been trying to plan this stuff for weeks now and all you wanted to do was play Rift, lol.

 

Maybe I could convert you both to join the guild I'll be in?

Looks like a pretty good guild, but me and Selik both are a bit tired of major guilds right now, I think we've been planning for a long time to have a small, quaint guild with only the necessary amount of people.

 

It already has a website? o.e..

 

Lots of guilds have a website, me and Selik plan on making one tonight after we work some details out.

 

The thing is about guild wars 2 is you really should join a big guild, you'll get more out of it. However, you can always have your little guild with just your friends where you can chill and whatever.

That's the good thing about being able to join more than one guild, I guess. Don't worry guys, I'll come and guest on whatever server you guys plan on going to and stalk you :3

It's Guildwork, a site made by a huge FFXI linkshell (guild) leader. The site was mainly made for FFXI and FFXIV but people from guild wars 2 have been using it a lot for making their sites and finding other people.

It's sort of like facebook in a way.

 

I was thinking of it the other way around.

On TERA I didn't exactly intend to join a large guild but I ended up inadvertently being in the largest guild by far on my server and it was a good thing since we dominated politics, we were displayed as the #1 guild through the guild list due to our size and number of positive votes, etc.

On a game like TERA, small guilds just can't compete with the stuff on the side, like politics, because they have no numbers to support them.

In Guild Wars 2, since there is no raiding yet, just open world stuff, and most things are 5-man or can otherwise just be done without even joining any group, I don't see much purpose for having a large guild. I presume the social aspect of people talking frequently would be nice but with 10-15 people (or even less) that shouldn't be an issue.

Why do you say large is good though? I may have missed some reasons.

 

The more people you have in your guild, the more influence your guild will have. With more influence comes certain buffs that have nice effects on your characters, and some other item rewards that I assume will be pretty nice too.

In short.. a small guild can't get nice things as fast as a large guild could.

 

I actually hadn't considered that. I'll have to keep that in mind, and show the post to Selik.

 

I should also add something, you don't need a big guild per se, you need an ACTIVE guild. You don't get influence if you don't do anything. ;(

 

I have a rift account if anyone wants it, i dont play rift anymore and dont plan on playing it ever again. If they havent fixed my account there is a dead expired card that you can just continue using and get to play for free. Yes i cheated the system. Keep in mind i havent tried using the card in like forever so idk if it still works, but you can try and if it doesnt well i guess you'll have to use your card now.

Kingdom of Amaluar was meh for me. Way too unpolished and stuff. I haven't played Darksiders 2 yet, but Darksiders was more hack and slash, God of War mixed with Zelda.

As for NBA 2k12, it's an awesome game and a lot of fun. I play real basketball also, but I can't throw down like I can with Dr. J, MJ, Dominique Wilkins, etc. But I run with the Bobcats. Nothing more fun than humiliating 95% of people with the worst team in history ;D

As for GW2, I might buy it, but I doubt I'll play it that much. I have tons of other stuff I want to do.
