Meh, I might buy it. Haven't decided yet. If I do, I'll be sure to hit you guys up. Even if I do, I won't play much.

 

Darksiders 2 is a lot like the first Darksiders in that it's a lot of hack and slash and exploring and puzzles only now it's a lot bigger and RPGier. There's a lot of loot that not only affects your stats but look as well, and you level up and learn new and improved skills. Did I mention it was a LOT bigger. After the first dungeon which acts as the tutorial you enter the first "zone" which is almost the size of Darksiders 1 and then there are several zones like that. Of course it does have it's bad points too. First of all is the gear you get for preordering and if you played Darksiders 1. It looks really awesome but it's only good for the beginning parts. Some of that gear should have been able to level up so that it's still good throughout the game. Also would have been nice to have a remodel system, but other than that if you liked Darksiders 1 then you'll like Darksiders 2.

Kingdoms of Amalur was great and meh at the same time. It had some cool ideas and combat but it did need polish. I usually go the melee route and I hated that a lot of fights with some of the tougher enemies or lots of enemies seemed specifically meant to screw melee people over. Wizards would just spam the same 2 or 3 spells over and over again and everyone else would just swarm you. There is no attack cancel so unless this was fixed in an update you can't dodge when you're in mid attack and the slightest breeze in your direction would interrupt your attacks unless you got that one might skill that made all your attacks interruptable. But then you take 30% more damage.

Sports games are still a total waste IMO. If you want me to play football then get some friends and a football and I'll come out and play. Alternatively you can get me a multimillion dollar contract, but if I'm gonna sit on my ass I'm gonna do it to fight demons and whatnot, not throw a ball around.

Someone hasn't played any good sports games...multiplayer on sports games tends to be a lot more fun than any other multiplayer I've ever played. Lot more intense, a lot more interesting, etc. Granted, playing by yourself is nowhere near as fun as any of the games you mentioned.

Playing real life basketball and 2k12 are not at all mutually exclusive. You should try it before you knock it. 2k12 is by far the best sports game ever made. And as long as you don't play with a cheese team, that game takes a lot more skill than Darksiders 2 or Call of Duty or Battlefield.

I also bought Demon Souls and a guide for it. I love a challenge, so that should be interesting. If only I had time to play videogames. I have a ton of old collections (Jak and Daxter, Rachet and Clank, Sly, Ico + Shadow of the Colossus) and a few new games that I bought but never got around to playing. While I'm going along with that, I never got to finish reading the books I said I would read. Obviously, been doing a bunch of other stuff ;D

 

A lot of people have haven't played any good sports games. I am not one of them. I have played several of the newer Madden games, along with a few of the NCAA titles and definitely know that the developers really worked hard to make quality titles. HBut even with friends I find sports games to be dull and pointless. Regardless of whether I'm with friends or foreveralone.jpg if I want to put a ball in a hoop I can just go out to my driveway or go to the gym and get some exercise while I'm at it. But when I'm sitting on my ass controlling someone made of Zeros, Ones, and pixels I'd rather be doing something badass such as blowing up a bunch of aliens or fighting a demon army.

Irrelevant. Regardless of what sports games you regard as "great" I find them all to be a ridiculous waste of time. Why the hell would I want to control a video game character throwing a ball around when if I wanted to do, I could just go outside and literally throw the same type of ball around. I'm a busy guy and don't have a whole lot of time for games, so I would rather spend the time I do have for games doing something awesome such as saving the world or even conquering it.

 

Because NBA 2k12 is one of the best games out, and all of these people are too close-minded to realize it. I'm not just saying that as a fan of basketball. It really is a lot of fun ;o. I've tried a bunch of other games, and I get tired of them so quickly, but I can always play 2k12 with my brother or online. Until Assassins's Creed 3 or Uncharted 4 or the new God of War or something else comes out (2k13), it's the best game out right now. Haven't played Darksiders 2 yet, but that's irrelevant.

 

All video games are a waste of time. At the end of the day, you haven't conquered the world, you aren't wiser in any way, and you have nothing to show for your conquest. At the end of the day, it's all about how much fun you had. 2k12 is a lot more fun than Kingdoms of Amalaur... Once again, you can play basketball outside and 2k12 inside. They are not at all similar.
