I recently read post about a guy who got banned. He said that was for no reason, others said, that he was banned for voting with 20+ accounts
So just to make clear, Is voting with more than one account bannable or not?

You mean Oplaylistic? I guess proxy voting is illegal, although it's never really specified in the rules. There should have been given a proper warning.

Now we have to ask ourselves: Is asking friends (different IPs) to vote for you illegal? What exactly are the rules regarding votes?

 

He was banned for being proven and being stupid. He told everyone in the legion that he was voting with a proxy to gain an upperhand in the voting system and gain something that is worth more than what he should've gotten in 2 weeks.

Voting with a proxy and using multiple accounts is and always will be bannable since you're stealing money from Carl.

the smart ones who get around the voting system gets a banhammer. easy as that. there was no such rule as to it and to say it is bannable now is a completely retarded move. how long has the server been up? and you call out this "rule" when?

lol, i'm so ganna get people flaming me and accusing me that i might be doing the same thing. so i say go ahead and check my ip, and neither am i siding with oplay since i don't even know the guy. all i'm saying is kissing ars gets you immunity, ratting friends is the new fad, and money makes the world go round. n_n .

 

There's a difference between you telling him that and a GM telling him at that time. There was no clear cut rules about the voting system on this server since it's never been such a big deal. Voting on multiple accounts equals to a multiplied amount of time and effort to log into the accounts or change the IP to actually vote. While the exchange is credits for votes, it's a small amount of credits that can be gotten per account. The amount of time to vote and do so for 2k credits, takes a long time.

Donations, then, are there not only to help the server, but it is also a method to give players the option of getting items faster. While it takes a few seconds to vote and get items, voting takes weeks, multiplied by the effort that it takes to do what he did.

Nonetheless, I really think there should have been a strict and fair warning, not a quick ban.

 

Using 2 accounts is not something you can be banned for if your just using to play the game - multi-boxing on retail to farm for items gives you an advantage over other places in that you are the sole benefficary of the items and thus can sell them for more money than others.

I guess if you really wanted to say here you could make more money and thus buy credits, but if you look at the people who multi-box or dual account they are usually just doing it for the benefit of their own characters in buying items off the broker to gear up alts etc....they are not like the ton of dupers on this server who are actually breaking the rules and getting easy money through hacking.

In terms of account voting yes I think this is justified as a bannable offense, I could go to my local interenet bar and get over 100 votes in one day on multiple accounts if I could really be bothered but what is the point of that just to get found out and banned. It is just gear you can get it over time by proper means or by farming and trading.

Why does everyone now days need everything right away, have some patience for your alts etc and just donate for one character if you really want some gear but don't want to spend to much

 

agree, but sadly people are power hungry and friend are rats. oh well, a banhammer is the most powerful wep anyone can get and non can question it specially if money is involved.

carl should be happy that 1 person is voting for this site like that. do you srsly think that all that votes came from non proxied votes? if banning someone doing proxy vote is the new fad, then i say good luck since you'll be banning more than 1/4 of your pop. since even voting with 2 accounts is counted as multiple voting unless done w/o proxy.

ps: warnings are nice especially if there was no such rule against it.

 

Guess what genius, if voting with multiple accounts is stealing money from carl, playing aion on a private server sure as hell is stealing money from NCsoft.

XD i think Lakhane was just kissing peoples arseeeeeeeee just to be a gm but o.o guess he didnt get selected. :O wonder y but o wells. and I agree with some people in here theres no such rule as multiple voting so banning is a bit drastic if no rules and as far as i know i never saw oplay using donation gear maybe 1 day before he got banned i saw him using sword and dagger but thats about it. I say if voting on multiple accts is banable then make it a rule and also dont allow dual boxing since is same as using more than 1 acct :O.

 

LOL, is it bannable? hell yeah. Are they going to find out unless you outright say it and someone who you thought was your friend turns around and sells you out? Hell no. Thats all you need to know
