Don't bother with attack MS you wont notice much of a difference, go with ACC/CRIT . If your gonna be rocking a sword instead of mace (which I recommend) you dont want to use MA go again with Crit. If you do go S/M either go both MA or Both MR or both Block. Doesn't help much if they have diff MS since you will be using them together and mostly only for combos or to run away xD

I don't consider myself even close to pro but I handle myself pretty well ^_^

You probably seen my templar around on ely side, i'm not a 100% expert playing as templar. I'm also still working on improving my skills as a templar, I would say i'm decent enough to give u some tips =d.

Lets start off with your set, For abg plate i would socket the plate with accuracy and crit - 2800-3000 accuracy and crit should be around 700-900 with Crit food and crit strike scrolls. That should help you with ur dps, you don't actually need block caz as a templar it takes long enough just to kill 2-3 people, but that's totaly up to you if u feel the need to tank melee classes then stick with block, but in my oponion Crit and Accuracy is better. Also as soon as ur phys atk buffs run out ur dps will be too low and you will find it even harder to take out your oponent. You also don't need to socket atk+5 because... It's important to land your skills with a crit than being blocked or evaded therefor socketing accuracy+crit would be better. You probably won't need atk+5 unless u can do proper weaving. And as for Chain set Full MR is good. In battle fields i use my MR set 70% of the time. using MR is steady build for templars you can just run straight into a zerg full buffs with out being slowed or being hit by mages, unless an SM decides to be an a$$ and debuffs u.

For weapons.... extendables should be socketed full crit and Non-extends Full crit as well. Shield and mace should be socketed with full MR don't socket block on shield and mace unless u actually stack it.

I hope this helped, My IGN is Asianz if u have any questions just pm me =d.

and for manas use crit/ acc.. atack just wont work for temps...

I'd rather have the extra block on mace and shield than a small add on of mr. The build of block-crit-accuracy is much of a greater effect in my personal opinion. You'd rarely bounce into a block user and when you do, a balic (60 is best) non-extend has enough accuracy outpost to deal with block clerics or chanters, rather than waste all those extra slots for an extend weapon. 2.5/2.6k is enough. Pretty impossible to stop block vs a templar due to those stances, but lucky for all of us, most don't correctly use them.

Everything you're saying is spot on, but if you really want to use templars at their highest extent, got to involve block in some cases, you don't want to depend on your buffs for small fry, best save those for the real meat. Unless you (anyone) mostly does 1 vs 1, I just think open world pvp where anyone can come at any moment during a fight. That's why I use block, to protect my buffs for a real fight.

If you're not a hybrid user and just use mace for magic smash then you pretty much dont need block at all.

I wont talk about mr, haven't used that for a while now, it makes the game... Boring and unchallenging. I prefer to just burst down the sorcs and sms without nerfing my dps ratio (thank you stubborn spirit) and just save AA for multiple opponents at once so I don't get debuffed (heavily) by physical classes.

I agree, i'v tried crit/block/accuracy, it does help me quite a lot. But thing is i don't like to mix my mana stones. in Dragonjuper's and My case we have more than 1 set. we could just switch sets depending on situation. In battle fields u observe before u attempt to take action. But if your ur talking about a person that is stuck with 1 set mixing mana stones or going hybrid is good too.

i agree bro, but to templar i recomend use mag acc on mace and shield, thats gives more chance to dont fail stun, or altered states like slow from doom lure, or fear from the cry, also w this ur magic smash will be a sure strike :D

damn first time ive seen bend doing a guide zomg !

but yea good job on planning, i always prefer mr in any cases
but one thing is that mr + extends now does very small amount of dps,
id go with non extends :3

also, block is a very good build but what i really prefer is acc/crit
just cause i can burst a cleric with shit load of block in pvp zone

the difference ive noticed between pvping with shield w/ block or pvping using gs and meeting melee classes is that
when it is u vs 2 or more situation, block crit was more of killing one of the opponent while tanking the other ones,
GS was more of constantly moving to prevent others from atking u as much as u possibly can and dpsing the one u mostly can.

and for me, when i pvp mostly solo, dealing with melees and sudden appearence of mage classes while using block was a headache, due to some cds i would have. sure you definately can swap to gs but man, those lock downs + snares are annoying and AA might be in cd who knows?
But im pretty sure there are many block templars that manage that situation well but not me >__>

so yea i pvp mostly in mr w/ non extends for extra damage and tbh i don experience that much lack in damage
(i feel it when i use extendables though)
    :)

Putting block on just few parts of your gear is useless unless you socket your entire gear with block (except greatsword). Even with a full block set + full block mace & shield as well as a helm with block on it, since 3.0 it became not viable.

Sure, if you have an entire block gear, you might be able to block a bit against rangers / assassins but get this, even if you block attacks from melee you are still taking damages and since you're using a block gear, your accuracy will be way too low so rangers / assassins will be dodging a lot of your attack especially when you're on mace & shield which is really needed especially when you don't have Unwavering Devotion up. Evading attacks means taking 0 or so that's the idea.

Regarding MR set, it's still good but only when you have Aether Armor ready, otherwise it's not useful enough to keep using it instead of a Crit / Accuracy set.

Mace and shield should be socketed with Crit / Accuracy too, yes crit and accuracy! Why? Since 3.0, templar's magical attacks have gotten a lot more accurate than before to the point that you can even land a Divine Justice stun with greatsword. To top this off, you have an Empyrean Fury if ever you think you'd need a bit more Magical Accuracy. It's cool down is not too long as well. I don't think getting 140 more Magical Accuracy (considering you're using a shield with 6 slots & extendable mace with 4 slots so that's 10 slots x 14 Magical Accuracy manastones) will be more useful than sockething Crit / Accurcy to make sure your Break Power will hit and will crit using a mace.

I've also noticed that using Break Power with mace / sword instead of greatsword is a lot better now. I've been hit by a Break Power using EAC Sword for about 3.2k - 3.5k (critical hit) not to mention I was wearing ACD too. Hitting someone with Break Power for as much using greatsword is also possible but less possible compared to mace / sword. Another thing is, you'll be hitting this much without lowering your defense (which is templar's best attribute) through switching to greatsword. You can probably hit even harder with mace since it has more base Min / Max Attack.

As for food, it will depend on which class you're facing and which set you're using. Scrolls, pretty much the same as what most melee use (run + crit + atk speed) but use Spell Resist. This is better compared to Strike Resist since most people have enough Crit anyway rendering your entire Strike Resist not as usefull as Spell Resist but then again it will depend on which class you're facing.

The thing you said about block isnt entirely true though. With a setup of 4 parts of set block + shield with block you can get around 3400 block. Dont tell me that 3400 block isnt enough to block people, most people dont even have 3000 accuracy. Not to mention that you are missing the point of the block manastone setup. That setup is not only useful because it can block attack,it also ensures that with barricade of steel you ll get capped block against anyone. Try to use barricade of steel by wearing a crit/accuracy build, you wont even be able to block an accuracy build gladiator. I think a lot of people are missing the point when it comes to block manastone setup.

Apparently in Lumiel, no good temp uses Barricade of Steel just because it's not worth giving up any other stigma skill a general templar stigma build has. It's also because of the downside of using a block gear that I said it's not viable. In Gamez, if you don't kill someone as fast as possible especially as a temp, you'd end up having a zerg eating your HP down as the fight takes longer or your target getting away from you especially ranger and their Mau Form or assassin and their Wind Walk with a stupid cool down of 1 minute.

I don't know but I block enough without using a block set with Steel Wall Defense and as long as I time Cry of Ridicule right.

let me think, are u "Solo" type templar, i guess not, well let me info u, coz i was thinking u are playing on lumiel now and that server dont have a lot of players like siel, Crit/Acc can work on Elyo Temp coz Ely temp have more skills depending from Block and shield than Asmo Temp, but if u will wear Mace shield so i recomend use Athanas/Laestrygos Mace coz the range of a normal mace is a Crap, instead u use ur EAC or AC i dont care, if u cant hit me i dont Care what are u wearing, so its true now all skills have more mag acc coz instead the server goes 3.0, skills has been upgraded, but!... there is some guys wearing full MR like chanters clerics or some Sorc, so ur Build Crit/Acc dont work W them in a 1vs1 "Solo Battle", what u gonna do w this guys, of course u can wear ur Mr Set to resist "some" skills from the atack from this guys, But!... u cant make CC on them coz they will resist ur stun, slowers or other type of altered states except physicals, so ur only 3 chances to kill him is w doom lure pull, shieldburst if u are a nab using this chain full, or knockback from shieldbash, also of course the little % of chance of stumble w crits on GS, u Cant Beat a Experienced player just wearing Crit/Acc set, so i recomend have 2 Sets, if u dont have the enough money to spend in 2 sets , use plate mixed Mr w a bit of crit, will work too, Vs Zerg and of course in 1VS1, also use mag acc on hammer and shield to get "Sure CC" on magic altered states, and u will control the fight and get a kill W/O problems.

sorry about this but ur words remember me guys who just play behind healers, do more "Solo" pvp and u will know what i am talking about.

The DDG Warhammer is far better than the Athena mace. That tiny extra mb boost just doesn't cut it from the physical stats boost from ddg.

I just need the mace, shield and 1 part in block with helm and I already got above 3000. Generally enough for the greater population. Also I don't have low enough accuracy to the point of being evaded by rangers or sins. I socket enough accuracy just to avoid that happening, as well as parry. For block users, I just switch to balic 60 greatsword with a pvp fused and accuracy slotted, got to 3281. Loving that stubborn spirit too, such an epic skill to have.

I've been playing here in gamezaion for more than 1 year as a templar in 10 months not much experience than other templar players here my gear is just ABG plate set w/ full abg acce. from my own experience if you've 1 set mixed your manastone MR and Crit be sure your MR is in 1900 and crit is 550 w/o scrolls, foods or buffs from chanter. , for shield and mace be sure it stack MR ms. what's the disadvantage of this is gladiator/templar (build with accu/crit and with good gear + nice ping) since you've no greater Dps coz your 70% stack with MR ms than Crit but depends how you handle this situation you dont have to play everyday to familiarize your skill just analyze it and accept your weaknesses if you have.^^

well i tested the mix abg plate Crit/MR and i get around 600 crit strik using athanas GS, around 700 w ABG GS fused w Taha GS, of course with food and scroll crit, and 1900+ mr wearing master carved corundum glasses, its a good idea to players w just 1 set. of course i have chain sets w full mr, but i have chanter too and its too lazy move the set many times by account warehouse :/
