$10-15 would be my original guess on something like that. I'm sure you have it figured out mostly but I'd suggest trying to do commissions for things that are personal to people, like game character drawings, fantasy characters, etc.

Something more intricate like digital art wallpapers and posters and such maybe closer to $20-50 depending on the piece and size.

Thats just my take, I've never done commissions or purchased any so I can't give any specific prices, just going based on guesses of what I'd possibly be willing to pay

IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A CEREAL ANSWER (note: I'm the nicest guy in the forum you can find around, even nicer than Dil-boy): $5 - $10.

Train harder, practice more and you can easily make tons of moola. For example, this one

is from a friend of mine. Fully hand-colored. He tagged it at $130. Here's his dA page: http://claparo-sans.deviantart.com

But who am I to say, people commission for all kind of stuff regardless of skill/quality. I'd pay at best $7 on my part.

This is why I don't commission also. People ask for too much.

yah I wouldn't be selling that picture I would be taking, like, peoples in game characters and doing commissions for pictures of their characters.

and also while that picture is nice it's not anywhere near my leauge. I'm not that good at detail, I don't really think I can be compared to it. I might get better in the future but what is there is really pushing myself to the limit of what I know. Looking back though I see a few things I can fix and i'm thinking i'll add some creases in the shirt and pants.

Kinda sad to hear that people would only want to pay 10 bucks for it if it was their character but hey, its something. Thanks for the help.

Edit: Now that i'm getting a bit better understanding I think i've come up with some simple price points.
    like
~ A headshot for 2$ line art no color
    ~ A full body sketch 3 $
~ full body no color line art 5$
~ simple color around 8 to 10$ dependant on what it is and how big it is
~ A full shaded picture between 12$ to 25$ heavily on how long it would take and how bif of a project it is, and how detailed it is.
Something like in my first post, once I add a few more details and fix a few things that I see I think between 12 and 15 would be a solid price for that IF it was someone asking it from me.
    Thoughts?

I am making my own comic series/manga and have a pretty badass story, but I suck at drawing. Do you think you would be able to some concept art?

Do you happen to draw nude art of real people? If you get me Momo's, I'll give you $1,000.

I didn't look down on your art, looks like we didn't understand each other and I apologize for that. I just don't understand why would anyone wanna spend their money on an image...

I don't know if people actually make money of things like this but if you have skills become a painter, I think you'd have a better chance :)

One more thing I don't get, is people that say " hey I cant find a job!" A job is easy to find, just matters what you looking for, if you expect to close your eyes and the next second wake up in a nice office and have 1000 slaves at your feet then guess what, that ain't gonna happen.

Good luck with whatever you wanna do, hope this works out for you because you really have talent and if you made that image from scratch then it looks really good.

Also something that you might wanna learn and would look better, is a gif image, like that guy\girl you have there and the orb, give it life, make him\her do something, create a story etc, it's more complicated but it will be worth it.

I think that sounds pretty reasonable. One thing to consider is that it will probably start off pretty slow but later down the line once you've done a lot of commissions and you become decently well known, people will be willing to pay more simply due to reputation.

I wouldn't look at this as a job, its not really reliable to make a living off of commissions unless you're -really- good and have a very special product.

Mostly this is more of a hobby, people love to create things in their free time, anything from digital art, to paintings, to fan creations like Daft Punk helmets - How to make a Daft Punk helmet in 17 months - YouTube

Obviously things like the Daft Punk helmets will sell for crazy amounts, but unless you run a really well known prop business like that guy, its still hard to make a living off of this stuff given material cost and time investment, so yeah this is mostly hobby stuff, but its nice to earn money while doing something you love.
