I didn't say it'll be a bad thing to implement these features, I'm saying you need to step outside your comfort zone, too much babysitting players isn't always a good thing. Accessing Inggison/Gelkmaros truly isn't that hard. Unfortunately using own faction portal inside Silentera Canyon is legal so that means they'll always be campers.

Let's put it this way. How will the beginners ever learn the game if everything was on easy mode?
Every single day I see new players asking what this skill does (when it's in skill description) and some are so baby fed, they beg for mentoring, instead of figuring how to level themselves.

Beginners have trouble with things is because they do not get exposed to it. Without knowledge of how things are suppose to work, they'll never figure it out. For example on Siel, new players get used to stigmas as auto learnt, when they move to Lumiel, they'll be confused of the stigma system. Similarly if a portal was given to teleport into Gelkmaros from Inggison, new players will assume that's how the game suppose to function and Silentera Canyon's existence will be no more than a labyrinth that leads somewhere.

Yes, there is the problems of the zergs. Everyone crowds into Gelkmaros/Inggison because it is the easiest place to access, hence a substantial amount of people gathering in one zone. However it is very naive to think this won't happen if teleporters are implemented. Quite the opposite, as pathing to Belu/Heiron/Ingg/Gelk become simpler to access would mean there will be MORE people gathering to a certain location.

We barely get any babysitting as it is. :(

I don't mean that accessing Inggison/Gelkmaros is hard, it's just... time consuming and repetitive. Time that could be spent doing better, more productive things. You know what I mean? Call me lazy, but I don't enjoy spending so much time getting prepped for PvP. I just want to be able to go to a battlefield instantaneously. If I go to one area and there's nobody there or there's too many people there, there goes a good 30-45 minutes that could have been spent chopping heads off.

This wouldn't necessarily be "easy mode." It's a major shortcut, yes; but it would it alter their game experience in a bad way? In my opinion, no. Why? Because most players that come to this server come here for PvP. Sure there's a few PvE seekers, but most players dread spending hours on hours hunting bosses or raiding instances to get gear. Players want end game and that's where private servers are better than retail. Another server that won't be named automatically takes your character to level 60 upon creation and only has one PvP map at a time (mainly because of the small population). They have a ton of battlegrounds that are accessed via commands, and their players are doing just fine - if not better than ours.

Sure, but do they need to be exposed to these things? I'm all for showing players the game, but some things are just a plain waste of time. Silentera Canyon doesn't really serve a purpose but to occasionally have people run into each other and die. What happens when someone dies in SC? They go all the way back to their spawn point wherever that may be because kisking is not allowed in SC. Not that they would want to, but its purpose just creates repetition where players continue attempting to make it across to the other side of Balaurea. It shouldn't be this way because as it stands, Asmodians zerg the shit out of Gelk and Elyos zerg the shit out of Inggison. This creates an unfair (albeit challenging) advantage to whoever controls that section of Balaurea.

Whenever I PvP in Inggison on my asmo gladi, I do get the occasional 1v(1-3), which are the battles I favor, but then most of the time I run into a group or a zerg that has multiple Sorcerers that have all nukes on 1234 and SM's that have Fear on 123. This is just annoying in my opinion.

If/when the teleporter gets implemented, I will be able to spend a maximum of 20 seconds choosing which zone I want to kick ass in, I'll go to that zone and not need to worry about getting assraped by a zerg.

Excuse me if I'm wrong, but if all zones are equally accessible, wouldn't there be some kind of balance to how many players are in each zone?

Silentera Canyon serves as: Link between Gelkmaros and Inggison, Access to BT, Access to another instance (soon in 3.5), and general PvP map. If you died in SC to another player, congrats you've found PvP. If you thought Silentera Canyon was useless, think about Tiamaranta PvP areas, you could essentially obelisk bind next to the PvP zones, yet no one goes there.

And this is why we need to expose people to new stuff that is already implemented ingame. If not many people know about them, there will not be many people doing it. Having a teleporter to Tiamaranta will be excellent and helps spread out PvP, not going to deny that. Having a teleporter and players not knowing they can actually reach that place normally in the first place, that is the depressing bit.

Actually things similar to that already exists and it's called the Arena of Discipline/Chaos. Or even better Dredgion. (And to a lesser extent the coliseum). If these arenas and dredgion were scripted to be on with more time slots, then it'll favour time zones and attendance.

I'm not against your idea. The only opposing thing I disliked is the priorities. The teleporters should enrich the exploration of new areas over the old so it'll still require players to explore and expand. Setting limits into zones is damaging. If not properly done, you'll still have 15vs5 in a 20 player zone. Even if done properly, there is still the uneven distribution possibility as not always it'll be 10vs10, sometimes can be 10vs3 or 9vs6.

Or for people that don't want to spend countless hours prepping for PvP.

I think Alente was looking into something like this tonight.

At least he made mention of the portals and such, but they seemed to be invisible things that cannot even be clicked on, as they activate on walking into to. Sooo! Invisible portals are..yea.

I think a better idea would be to make a statue (kind of like the one that takes you to Marchutan Priory) that upon clicking, would reveal the list of zones able to be transported to. This is definitely possible.

but the game design will be broken and wasted to nothing. lazy lazy players. area and maps are made to be explored. in this case. the game will become like the other PVP room games where PVP is fixed. the excitement will be reduced like being ambushed before u reach ur destination etc. Survival of the fittest! if u fail to reach ur destination then do it better. In addition, the rifts that leads outside for sure will be camped by the most well known zergers!! so u cant kisk that easy as it will be predictable that u will pass those pathways.

The game design won't be broken. The game design isn't even used right at the moment anyway. Most of the players that play this server play it for the PvP.

The entire idea isn't to cater to "lazy players." The idea is to make things a little more convenient and to decrease the amount of time spent prepping so we have more time to PvP.

Or the rifts would be placed on top of a mountain or somewhere inaccessible by the opposite faction? This suggestion is a little more flexible than you give it credit for.
