    While I can sit here and throw arguments about which is better (Slash vs. Buckethead), I'll refrain from doing such.

    Music isn't about speed, its about soul. Yngwie is good for speed, Buckethead is good for speed, Slash is good for soul. Both Yngwie and Buckethead have soul-based songs, and Slash has a couple of speed ones as well.

    Another good one is Zakk Wylde. Didn't realize Downfall posted Joe Satriani already :p

    Ohhh come on! guize guize guize... i don't wanna sound too mainstream but, if music is about soul, no one has moar soul than Hendrix :D

    i mean, there are tons of guitarists that can play at a high high speed and i'm not saying it's easy but, it's really hard to find a guitarist that can play Little wing as it has to be played. just my opinion, hope you enjoy it.

    Finally somone mentioned one of the most important shapers of rock music and guitar-play/sound. And yes a fast guitar play is not a good guitar play. SRV is one of my favorite artists, and for the history he was also a huge admirer of jimmy Hendrix!! Peace
