think the only realistic way is to split it into 2 separate price groups. hour and half of 7 people, hour and half of 6 people, no bias to be had. the thing that screws it up is how they split the "early fee". make the first group of 7 people pay the whole thing? split it between the group of 7 and group of 6? that part is subjective, its not up to me :p

and yea the number of people doesnt matter, its always split into 2 groups like this. that way its nothing but a simple average

hour and half of studio time with the full +$10 early fee is $70, divide between 7 people
hour and half of studio time with no early fee is $60, divide between 6 people

from both of these it would be perfect $10 per hour and half per person, so the lone girl pays $10, they pay double. absolutely no rounding error

    Meh! I woke up off of making my head not function and then try to do this because I wanted to make my brain work again x.x;

Regi has interesting problems always though =X

If you guys only knew half the questions that she asked you would start to wonder if she was sane or not. I mean I know I am not totally sane anymore, but I blame people for that. Mainly you Smartik mainly you.

chick with half price = 9.25$
    2. each chick that pays full price = 17.4$
chick with half price = 8.125$
    3. each chick that pays full price = 15.35$
chick with half price = 7.2$

depending on how u split the early fee its possible :p she never told us how they will split it. point being she should always end up paying about half of what the others pay, the rest is spare change

no they dont :p he posted something totally different for the first question

Yeah, it was kinda confusing lol. At first I thought each had to buy 3 hours fee but then Regina said the fee is for studio, not for the one person, so that answers I got second time have to be right.

I tried again. (total amount 130$)
    1. full price = 19.99 ~ 20$
    half price = 9.99 ~ 10$
    2. full price = 17.32$ (+/- 0.01$)
    half price = 8.75$ (+/- 0.01$)
    3. full price 15.32$ (+/- 0.01$)
    half price = 7.76$ (+/- 0.01$)

    ___

without 10$ fee (total amount 120$)
    1. full price = 18.57$
    half price = 8.57$
    2. full price = 16.07$
    half price = 7.5$
    3. full price = 14.16$
    half price = 6.65$

split the price into 2 sessions of hour and half, apply simple average

    2 sessions
$60 for hour and half session total, split between 7 people
$60 for hour and half session total, split between 6 people

$60 / 7 people = $8.57 each person pays for first half (the only amount the girl who leaves after is gonna pay)
$60 / 6 people = $10 each person who stays is gonna pay for the 2nd session

therefore the first girl pays $8.57, the other people pay $18.57

if u wanna check it, $18.57 x 6 (for people who stay the full time) + $8.57 (for the girl who leaves) = $119.99 where 1 cent is rounding error

    thats my math xD

    You guys are hilarious.

iEugen was the closest and did well taking into account rounding discrepancies, but the #3s are far enough off to where the difference is noticeable. Exact amounts leading making an even $130 and $120 are:

    $130

    1. 6 people pay $20, half price girl pays $10

    2. 7 people pay $17.32, half price girl pays $8.76

    3. 8 people pay $15.28, half price girl pays $7.76

    $120

    1. 6 people pay $18.57, half price girl pays $8.58

    2. 7 people pay $16.07, half price girl pays $7.51

    3. 8 people pay $14.17, half price girl pays $6.64

Keep in mind that there are multiple ways to obtain the same amount. For instance:

"7 people pay $16.07, half price girl pays $7.51"

    Can also be

"7 people pay $16.06, half price girl pays $7.58"

The alternative one would actually make it closer to a more direct, unbiased split between everyone.
