Hope for 3.5 items.pak for XP users

So it would seem that NCsoft finally realized a 275mb text file is unrealistic and broke down the xmls in the items.pak to several smaller ones by category. since the size of it was the most likely reason XP users couldnt load it, there is hope that ull be able to use it again like it was back in 2.0/2.1

the biggest xml now is 123mb which is around the same as the main file was back then

unfortunately i cant test anything. the 3.5 items.pak is strictly incompatible and makes downgraded clients crash because the file structure is totally different from what it was until now (since they split it up into many smaller files). i can have premade files ahead of time but ill have to wait till private servers adapt the 3.5 packet structure that nobody broke yet so i can test with a non downgraded 3.5 client

Maybe im wrong but only a litle people playing on XP Windows(i repeat MAYBE IM WRONGP)...i think nowdays the most of people using Windows 7 so this problem i think is a bit small...anw im happy that the guys that working in this server inform everyone for everything..that means GOOD Comunication:lol:so Thumbs Up!!!!..anw hope 3.5 items.pak work for XP Users too:wink:thnks for info Smartik..

 

Smartik is not a staff member, but he helps us a lot, about Aion, windows and lots of softwares, because he is Smartik;D

 

well actually the majority of private server population is from Philippines, Indonesia and Brazil and in most of these places, especially net cafes people use win xp and yea they dont really wanna switch. if u check the items.pak threads there r 100s of posts from xp people who want an xp version coz they cant run it xD

Ohh..so i think it was necessary to be said....and i know Smartik is not staff member the only thing i said was ''working''..and this word for me mean ''help''..so is one of those guys that Comunicate well in this Server by helping guys like us for things that we dont know:lol:
