So I got the game yesterday, I am about halfway through and having issues finding out who the hell is on my side :p Basically I already am an assassin, have the blue assassin robes and all.

    1. Are any of the soldiers meant to be friendly? I've noticed both redcoats and bluecoats are permanently marked red on the minimap, both of them randomly attack me (especially frontierland). I noticed redcoats own forts by default and I am apparently liberating them, then bluecoats move in but they don't really seem grateful at all ;P still attack me randomly on the map

    2. Anyone figured out lockpicking on the pc? Seems pretty luck based and bugged (in a sense that sometimes u turn the knob forever and nothing happens, have to close the attempt and try again)

    3. When do artisans/workers actually level? I'm at the beginning of sequence 6, already hired like 5 groups of them and did their missions and all but no matter what only like 1-2 are available for crafting and are level 1 anyway

    edit:

    4. Anyone figured out a fix for the hair bug during cutscenes? I mean the funky hues pretty much all geforce card users see

lol the thing is they kinda fail to explain the most important part of the story, like who represents what side and who u r supposed to be with lol. they just dump u into the world and u gotta deal with it. and yea its weird its like, i just captured 5 fortresses for them alone and they are like "YEAAA, we will still shoot u though" :p not literally but u get the idea

Yeah you kinda have to clear your notoriety if you dont want the blue ppl to attack you.
About lockpicking all you have to do is to rotate that thing, then hold your mouse so it wont move or smth then you can just repeatedly press the buttons. It's really easy xD

well it says move left/right at first step and move up/down on 2nd step lol, then the last is spam clicking. the left or right bit is easy, its whatever comes after that that sucks

i havent found a way to lower notoriety in the frontierland. i dont see why i would have any to begin with, ive been helping them all along. neither do i see why they r marked red on minimap.

its all kinda like...why am i even helping these people, redcoat, bluecoat, it really makes no difference lol, they r both *******s to me

Yeah...they just appear red on the map its always been like that.
At the second step of the lockpicking you just do nothing, dont move your mouse or else you have to redo the part xD just carefully rotate the lockpick at the first step then hold at the second step xD

funny, and sad. the description says move it up/down >.> thats why i was like what the hell is this lol. thx for the info

i read that worker/artisan levels only change after like stage 8/9 or something, until then doing their missions and all that does absolutely nothing. not sure if bug or intentional, but it really is weird

To fix the hair glitches in cutscenes you gotta update to 1.0.1
I was kinda upset i finished the game with 49% sync of the game.. lol
Yeah the lockpick is really buggy sometimes it just doesn't work so you have to cancel and try again.

Both Redcoats and Patriots generally act as guards and will attack you if you anything suspicious. Also keep in mind that this wasn't meant to be a YAY AMERICA! story but one that tells about how the Assassins and Templars played angles from both sides of the conflict.

Also a lot of the people that attack you in the frontier that aren't dressed as redcoats are ususally mercenaries or thugs and not actually Patriots.

I have it on the Xbox so I can't give you any advice on lockpicking though it was a pain in the ass on there too.

Patriots randomly at forts is a bug as quite a few times I would travel to a "liberated" fort only to see a couple of redcoats fighting the patriots there and would get attacked by everyone if I got involved, though if you leave them alone they won't bother you unless you start causing trouble.

There are also a few missions where you do have to fight and kill patriots as well.

Artisans and workers level automatically when you do homestead missions.

Im up to sequence 7 the game is great naval battles are a blast but there is quite a few bugs and things i have come across and noticed.

    1. It confused me as well the blue coats are meant to be friendlies but i found out they still shove u when u walk by them so i slaughtered a whole lot of em for fun after liberating a fort. and some blue coats randomly attacked me i think it was in boston earlier in the game which stopped me from finishing a mission then i had to reroute a way.

    2. wouldn't know since i used an xbox controller better look up a guide on youchewb

    3. haven't bothered with it.

    4. haven't changed hair style don't even know how to q_q

man this game makes things more difficult compared to previous ac games i still don't know how to make money :<

pretty sure i already have the 1.0.1 version and all over the web forums people complain bout the bug. i kinda got used to the hair. im on sequence 9 and am at a bit past 60% completion

idk bout consoles but id watch out for completing the last pirate treasure mission. theres a bug where every new screen u load or mission u finish or anything, u get a notification bout the "shard of eden" and "obtained mission item" or something. the spam is pretty irritating

the shard should allow u to dodge bullets every 10 secs but havent tried it yet

edit: @beastie then its a pc version but, making crafting absolutely useless. u have to beat most of sequence 9 till crafter lvls upgrade from 1 to what they should be according to beaten homestead missions (supposedly once u find ALL the crafters/artisans then they start lvling up). im not even at the point yet

more like 15-20 mins xd i was planning to go afk already when they ended and i was like woah i almost missed that

seriously dont get why they expect u to sit for 20 mins and watch a black screen full of thousands of names uve never seen and wont remember (or care) about. they should have at least done it GTA style with some decent artwork etc in the background to keep it interesting. GTA also had fast forward for credits

seriously if u wanted to see the credits, theres a button in the menu, always was lol

btw last i checked desmond died in the end xd dont get how conor is still around

That pirate thingy is the shard of eden which is a ring thingy which in the "official lore" protects the wearer from bullets and shrapnel and Desmond also had the effects transferred to him from using the animus. I don't know if you have to activate the ability itself or if it's meant to be a passive one but I think it's just something that Ubisoft put in to explain how Conner and later Desmond can handle getting shot without...... dying.

And ya the homestead thing is kind of neat but in a way useless in that most of the good stuff you don't get until late in the game and a lot of the stuff you craft is just either part of Ben Franklin's inventions which just sit around the house or are stuff that you could trade to the shops(I just trade away bear pelts anyways).

Though you could craft a few cool items. I got the double holster and 2 awesome pistols with extended range and accuracy, giving me 4 shots before I have to reload.

yea double holster which is amazingly bugged, the 2nd gun is not the type i picked and is just visual, never got to shoot twice (i use the navy duck whatever thing which shoots 3 at a time). i got washingtons sword from crafting later on.

anyways by died i dont mean shot. at the very end he touched the ball to release that b!tch and it killed him
