Are we gonna get updates any time soon.

Are we ever going to get any updates? It has been 2 months since the last update. It's like Alente + Carl do not even care. I think Carl does not manage GamezAion anymore so It's just Alente.. @Alente do you not know how to code, or to debug or something? You are losing people to retail + other servers. People are all talking about 4.0 when Gamez is not even 3.1. It's sad really. There are other private servers that support 3.7(3.5.0.5). The longer you put updates off the more people you are going to lose.

Maybe Aion should get a little more attention and not so much Tera.

I don't really get this obsession with 3.5.0.5

It's a fairly uninteresting content patch as far as private servers are concerned. The only desirable mechanic changes being largely aesthetic design tweaks such as buff icons and of course a couple new sets. Balance shattering manastones too I guess if you're into that sort of thing. The actual game content for legitimately obtaining which I have yet to actually see implemented anywhere.

To address your little sarcastic snippet at me - I am not a developer. Let me clarify that statement somewhat since it seems people have forgotten over the last year or two. I know how to code, one of my majors was Computer Science which certainly included objected oriented programming such as Java, however just because I know how to do something does not mean it is my task to do it. I've dabbled in development from time to time over Gamez's history but generally speaking I handle other aspects of Gamez, such as lovely threads like this, and leave the coding up to those who we pay to do it.

Just to contradict myself though - the next update (which will be a 3.0 subpatch) will include a couple minor alterations I've made to address some concerns that have been raised over the last couple weeks. Rifts, prize distribution, safezones, scrolls, kisks and gm command fixes to more or less sum it up.

What you need to bear inmind is we could update to 3.7 at any point. Internally we are maintaining two development channels - a 3.0 and 3.5/7 core. Both work and while bug fixes are applied to both new features are applied exclusively to the 3.7 channel. Instead of updating we have chosen for the time being to leave things as they are and continue on 3.0 until we're happy with the amount of 3.7 content implemented. If we chose to simply update the second we had 3.5 compatibility/basic support ready, which was weeks ago, then the forum would have been full of angry whinging over the lack of working 3.5 content. Happens every time we do that.

We're damned if we do and damned if we don't really. So while you're welcome to stomp your feet angrily I secretly suspect you would be doing the same regardless of our plan of action =p Such is the nature of drama llamas.

Ok so I get why you are not doing it, but you could also work on the 3.0 stuff not yet working. For example, you could implement houses to work correctly, you could implement all the quests. I also believe there is a mount missing? I am not too sure of the name but it is the cloud mount. I clearly remember 3.0 coming out with bugs, and yes there were a few people that were a little "PMSy" about it but then alot of people were fine with it. I for one myself am going to want 4.0 on gamez as soon as possible. I really could not care if it is buggy. I want to play gunner :3.

 

Houses are actually more or less working for the most part although they're not switched on since the server keeps eating items for some reason. Dunno why that is, last I looked the devs were still applying background updates to the Housing system in the background.

What quests o.o? You mean housing ones? Can't say I've ever had a shortage of quests on Gamez though our rates make most of them totally pointless anyway.

The cloud mount (Goku!), which last I checked was only sold via the Cash Shop on retail, will be making an appearance this year. That's been my intent since April.

4.0 is still awhiles to go even on retail heh. I suspect NA is going to update part 1(Gunner) and part 2(Bard) at the same time to avoid class flooding. As you know Part 2 isn't even on the Korean PTS yet. Though Gunner does look cool =p

 

I know quite a few people that would love houses. And the quest thing i heard from A friend. If you get the cloud mount in the game i will buy it just because it is a freakin cloud. Religious people can call me god. I'll start wearin robes n crap. Then shoot them in the face with my gun.

Razzam heard about the missing quests from me, he got it confused with someone else. The quests I mentioned are primarily the quests that has bonus rewards such as Souvenirs, Mithril medals and/or Contribution bundles.

Okies let's break this down why players are interested in the future patches. New content is always a drive and motivator for players to continue playing the game, when new updates are announced, it will always arouse demand and attention.

New patches also serve as a second purpose if you get them working. It gives the devs less work dealing with bug reports. NCsoft patched the game with sub-patches like 3.0.0.8, also known as 3.1, for the reason to fix the glitches/bugs from their main 3.0 release. What we're playing on is essentially a bugged version of their 3.0 update. There are items with the wrong skin, Players attacking enemy players within safe zones, SM's dispell not working on boss buffs and other issues.

If you say you can implement the new updates anytime, I can understand something big like 3.5 and 3.7 (3.5.0.5) take some time for tests and debugging. How about 3.1 to start off then?
