Beware of Low Level Seller of WOC 2 :)

Hey there guys..i just want to share this..i know that alot of us has encountered scammers using woc 2..and ive noticed that AM's are ignoring alot of reports regarding this issue because they are busy with some other things. The fact that its really hard to make a proofs using pictures..and specially to those who dont know how to take videos (like me).. This scammers dont die..and they are multiplying..LOL so just be careful.. Sorry for my bad english..xD

 

It is very easy to take a video, there will never be an action for such cases unless you have a video. There are simple programs such as Bandicam (the cracked version could be a little harder to come by though), fraps or hypercam (this is what i use for all my trades, the video output is very small and the program is extremely light, not exactly good for pvp videos but for trade videos its just perfect and most importantly you can get it for free, just type hypercam 2 download in google).

 

thnx for the info but..but i think this scammers are smart..and also i think they're updated here in forum..if some people posted a report about it then AM's will check the report but its too late already.. they can easily transfer woc 2 to another char or acc..and make a new scamming character.. i cant really explain it much because im not really good with my english..sorry

That's why you make videos. Download fraps or bandicam and you can start recording with pressing just f12 or some stupid button like that. Scammers are being watched by the AMs but it's really hard to get any evidence because most of the people provide small info about them, they only say that they have been scammed or post pictures that aren't enough to have a decent proof. You can check on most report threads that the scammers are dealth with appropriately but often there aren't any proofs so they get with it. They are probably updated with the forum, but that's why you must get a video of them and report them, making threads like this will only make them try to be more specifit in which target they choose and they will be more careful.

By the way, if you're trading something as precious as WOC 2, if I was in your place, I would never trade it even if it was my IRL friend without making a video of the trade, just in case.

 

You could send a private message with your report, you dont have to post it in public.

Also, im guessing they put woc2 in the trade window and then they cancel the trade multiple times until you get tired and confused and they put the woc1 or woc0 in the trade window and try to pass it as woc2.

Thats why you report them via PM to an AM that way they can't see it on forum.

I honestly don't know why Admin haven't made the report-section private for staff-only rather then public. but I suppose it's there option but it really does give the scammers an advantage to switch the hacked items via to a different account or even change name with a name-change ticket to the people who don't report via PM.

as you can see I reported some one and its been 7-8 hours and its clear-as hell there using animations hack Not even my friend with 20 ping and woc2 is that fast and there still not banned. but meh idc if they switch account Ik the person and they got a high-rank on there accounts so them losing there high rank accounts is good enough for me.

 

just be careful of what you trade and check also the item before and after thats it

Here's the problem. Not once has someone gotten a video where they actually swap the wings. We are well aware of their MO, they go around trying to trade the WoC2 but keep cancelling saying they're in a hurry, there's at least 2 videos in circulation of them doing this, but not one video shows them swapping the WoC2 for WoC1 or WoC. Without any evidence strong enough to make sure they don't appeal and break free, we can't do much.

My personal advice, if you encounter these low level scammers, get Bandicam ready, record through the scam process, and as soon as you get a clear view of the WoC2 being traded for something else, stop the video and follow this guide to compress it, then upload it to youtube as fast as possible. Do not let the scammer know you're onto him. Once the video is uploaded, look for GM's online in forums. If none are on, send a Personal message to all GM's for the server you're on (you can check what GM's work in which server by checking the link in my signature) with the video and name of the scammer. Do not post a report in the in-game reports section as they might become aware that they have been reported (this is a very delicate case, probably the only time you're going to see a GM telling you not to post a report). If all is done right and the scammer goes unaware of the situation, we might be able to stop them for good. Take too long or start fighting the scammer, chances are he'll get away and the ban will be useless.

Errr. There are plenty of videos with people who are doing this and they do get bans issued when the videos are sufficient enough....

But, do refrain from sending EVERY AM on the server you are playing a pm containing the same video or content. One is more than enough, as PMs get checked multiple times a day. Sending to everyone just makes undue work for the AMs who may not see the PM right away.

Proper evidence of any attempted item switch scam.

1) A simple recording of the conversation. (You can do this while trading by scrolling the whispers up so we can see the actual agreements, then scroll back down to where the chat window moves again normally)
2) Make sure that each item in the trade window is scrolled over with the mouse so what it is can be seen.
3) Double check the items if someone closes the trade (sometimes it is an accident and wrong things do get selected)
4) Before submitting a report of an attempted scam, make sure that your not reporting someone for making a simple mistake that could have been rectified by talking.
5) No video editing
6) Anything else you do think should be included with the video of relevance.
7) Remember, character level does not always mean a scam, some people just have a lowbie on dual raced accounts just so they can trade.

 

one thing you learned early when playing in online game is the presence of no good hackers andscammers ingame....they use many style/strategy and even resort to some 3rd party program like TRADE HACK like what i have encountered in some of the games i played....but the cardinal rule in trading high valued items ingame is for you to ask your trade partner to present or show first his main character to do the actual trade since you can be sure that your dealing with a legitimate players which you can report if anything bad happen with the trade....if he doesnt come back and show his main character, then you're lucky u did not get conned and hes definitely a cheater...also, be always suspicious of LOWBIE CHARACTER, CHARACTERS WITH INGAME NAME W/C ARE NUMERIC LIKE IIIIII or SOMETHING LIKE THAT since they are always sign of bad traders or scammers.....ALSO, THE BEST WEAPON IS OF COURSE GET SCREENSHOT OR AT THE MOST VIEDEOS since they can help you when worst comes to worst....anyway, hope you have learned your lesson well for now.....
