for players who play in retail.

i am not sure if i am allowed to post this or not.

but i just wanna ask those players who play in retail a couple of things.

1. is it easy to reach 60 in retail?
1.1 if it is, approx how many hours?

2. is it easy to gain AP and medals?

3. which server is the best one in terms of population:zerg ratio? a server where it good to go solo PVP from time to time.

getting sick and tired of all the crap that is plaguing the server, especially in lumiel. and the only reason why i log in to this game hasn't logged in lately.

i am ready to start from scratch if it means having a better gaming experience of the game i love.

3. depends if you live in europe/na. they will give u recommended servers, they're usually least populated and best ping for you, i listened to recommended and got myself on a good server, u should do it too.

 

1. Not hard at all to be honest if you have some ppl lvling with you that u can depend on you can go from 1-60 in a week or a week in a half.
2. Ap and medals also not that hard if u have people cause most of the quests are "group" quests, plus to be honest u will enjoy retail alot more than private server at the moment due to the fact that there is NO LAG.
3. Not sure on the best server but if u want a free e50 set when u get lvl 50 on NA retail go siel or kahrun. me personally im on Ispharel.

 

It really depends if you have friends or not, I don't have many of them so all group quests aren't counting for me. Also do you say from 1-60 in a week and a hafl playing 24/7? It takes with ordinary solo quests and campaigns from lets say 41 to 42 aprox 4 hours. ALso about ap medals there isn't any way to get it if you're solo that easily, so basically you should tr searching for some friends.

The thing about free set is that people on Siel and Kahrun are way to overgeared so they give it that you don't get one-shot in pvp, but I wouldn't advise on going to that 2 servers also. Do you malcolm play on any eu serv?

1. Pretty easy, they keep dumping exp buffs and boosts everywhere, people get 60 in a week or 2
2. It was super easy with the shugo imperial tomb, I got over 500k AP from there and got my pvp ring xd, was like 20-50k AP per run back then. So far I got 2 pvp accessories and 560k AP on me with 50 mithril medals. Medals are easy to get from tree/lake dailies even if you don't pvp. Medals are usually not the issue, it is the AP. I know top end pvpers claim to get around 1mill AP a week. You get a lot of you run dredgions and arenas. Pvp AP is generally garabage so the primary sources are dredge and arenas for direct ap combined with satra, hex and for some people essoterace for relics AP
3. On Tiamat, elyos have far larger population. The incentive surveys mentioned earlier (free 50e set at lvl 51 and NCC wep at 54) were intended to balance this, but all it accomplished was make elys create an asmo account for free gear, then hop back on elys when that got removed. I think Tiamat was the only server that had the incentives removed because NCsoft claimed the ratios balanced. Even if the population is more balanced, elyos are the ones using massive zerg tactics for snuff (rancora pvp) and eye pvp. For hearts, it usually goes 2 for asmo 2 for elyos so that aspect seems alright. Asmos mostly run as groups there.

 

ahhhhhhh....i hav some question about playing in retail...

1. can i run the aion file of gamez (so that i will not download again the game itself)
2. what files do i need to download to play in retail server (retail launcher or what other?)

no u cant, yes u have download again u have to choose what u want to play Ncsoft or Gameforce

 

which is better or the 2?

 

NCsoft is based in US and is actually free (they call it truly free to mock gameforge xd), Gameforge is based in europe and claims to be free but has a crapload of restrictions unless you pay them monthly and in terms of development is even behind private servers. They even tried to make ncsoft ban european IPs so they could get players. I am from europe and prefer NA anyway

As for your other question, the client can be shared, but it is not recommended. Both retail and gamez support the latest version, the only thing you have to do to switch is delete d3d8thk.dll from your aion\bin32\ folder to play retail and add it back to be able to login to gamez

Personally, I prefer copy pasting the folder and keeping 2 clients (no need to install again, just copy paste and it works) and using one for retail and the other for private servers. Retail will go 4.0 next month so you won't be able to keep using only one client

 

lol yes you can get from 1-60 easy if you really want to and to be EU retail sucks compared to NA. EU is too restricted lol e.e=me no time for gameforge bs. Plus if the people who play on gamez REALLY think about how much money they spend and time they put into this private server lol, they would be lvl 60+fully geared on retail already. I even fell into this category.

With the amount of money i spent(god..help us all.) like over 4000dollars lol in a span of 3-4years. I could get a lvl 60 char ez for 400 not to mention the ups and downs of retail compared to private ones. Retail=no lag, no gms you have to listen to, "less" hackers(obvious ones), more friend(random) people or at least for my experience. And you learn alot more about the gamez story mode having to actually do the campiagn quests. Even the lazy ppl who say lvling is too hard. Take 2 months out of your life and lvl 1 lvl a day on retail=60days+/lvl60. Then come back to gamez. By time you get lvl 60 you wouldnt wanna come back lol.

 

1 - in one week u can lvl 60
2 - No, well if u run a lot of instance in trio u can get a nice AP(The hexway, Satra "running for box only", Eso and etc)
3 - I already played in Tiamat, Ishaphel and Kahun...Best for me is Kahun its the most balanced one.

Omg that is so true, i couldn't agree with you more. I'm stuck at lvl 42, and I heard that lvl 41-50 is the most boring part of leveling, and I'm irritated because I'm so lazy and I don't find questing/farming exciting.

And yup, Gayforge has ruined the Aion, it's got too many restrictions, but I'm not that poor so I have a gold pack and it's okay here, but it's not f2p

You made no sense at all, honestly. What does 4.0 have to do with lagg? 4.0 isn't even here, what makes you say it will be impossible to play?

 

1) Its really easy to get to 60 compared to 1.5 aion. They uped the cap to use chat to Lvl20 but 1-20 is really easy. 21-50 fairly quick due to the Fast-Track servers they added which doubles xp gain and you can also play with players from other aervers which makes it easy to find a group for instances, but fast track server is only useable in heiron, elten, poeta, theobomos, and vetern gor elyos dont know the names of these places for asmos. This means 50-60 will have to be done without double xp server so i'd rexommend saving xp boost amulets. 50-55 is easy 55-60 may taki a little longer than all the other levels.

2) easy is you do your dailies everyday and i mean EVERYDAY. Also if your the top notch dpser for Wrath fort sieges, althought these medals are going to be crap since 4.0 is almost out. Ap is easy but the Eye is a zerging fest if you play on my server which is Tiamat its a very populated server which isnt good for pvp specially with the pvers they love to lock asmos out of the Eye killing all pvp in the Eye. If the Eye is open and you arent a sin goodluck getting a 1v1.

3) There will always be zergs no matter which server you choose on NA that is. Dont know about EU.

All in all its still fun but doing dailies gor medals can be a drag and can get you annoyed or bored to deatj.

Nope. If you start at normal stigma you will see how much more balanced it is and how better it is, trust me.

 

Actually not really. NCsoft is moving more and more towards absolute godmode, giving classes silence and blind skills with shorter and shorter cooldown (songweaver has 30 secs cd blind, gunner 18 secs cd silence, it is spammable) alongside the already existing godstones and bugged proc rates (silences proc more often than blind, para is nowhere near 2% chance, in the arena managed to get it on me 5 of my lives in a row)
