If I update my client to 4.0...

Aion 4.0 will be released soon, if it hasn't yet. Is it okay if I update my client? I'm just concerned as to whether or not I'll be able to still connect to GamezAion.

 

Probably/Definitely not. Hardly doubt you will be able to still play Gamez as well.

 

yeah!!because our server is 3.7 but if you update 4.0 your client it will be error....just think it 3.7 is lower than 4.0...xd

 

"soon" NA Aion gets 4.0 on June 26th, still 3weeks away...If you're referring to KR/JP/RU, then yes, those servers are already 4.0.
Either way if you update to 4.0, you will not be able to connect to Gamez UNTIL Gamez is updated to 4.0 too.

To be honest I had the same question and this is the answer I got from one of my friends: If you update aion to 4.0 and play with double clients (one for retail and one for gamez), only one of them will update to 4.0 and you will still be able to play on Gamez. I am not really sure if it will work or not? But yeah.

Going to have a boost event from 5th to 26th, as if leveling was not fast enough already. Shame it'll be during my finals so will be studying but 4.0 will launch after I finish so I can go explore new features.

In the situation if you have 2 clients (essentially 2 folders for Aion), like most people that plays retail and gamez. Then yes, you can use the 4.0 client for retail and the 3.7 client for Gamez.

And I am wondering, for example you started 2 clients, one for retail (4.0) and one for gamez (3.7), after both clients load and you quit retail one, will it disconnect you from gamez one too?

 

It should be obvious they have no correlation and shouldn't affect each other if they're already separated in different folders.
Just to make sure, tested it with my 3.7 retail and 3.7 gamez clients. Closing one (eg retail) does not disconnect you from Gamez.

 

Yeah, it shouldn't be problem if they are updated with the same version, but it might effect if they will have diff ones.

 

Not exactly the same version. Retail is like 3.5.0.12. My Gamez is 3.5.0.6.

Though possible if you're using a ping reducer which restricts you from opening multiple clients. I know reducethelag does that, unless you set the option to allow multi-client.

 

Hmm I shall try with battleping. Gonna start retail client, then open battleping and start the gamez launcher, but I think it won't let me lol

EDIT:
Tried running 2 clients with battleping: Started retail client, then turned on battleping and ran gamezaion launcher. Works fine, no errors or stuff.

So the answer to this thread will be:
You can still play gamezaion when retail updates to 4.0 if you do the following: Run 2 clients, first one should be retail one (Which will update to 4.0) and after that run Gamez client (which will stay at 3.7). Then you can close the retail client and continue playing Gamez.
